Description
This Beautiful Golden Eagle eagle is named for its golden brown plumage, with head and nape feathers are a little slightly lighter, golden color. The golden eagle is between 26-33 inches in height, the eagle has a wingspan of 78 inches (over 7 feet long) and weighs 3.4 to 7 kg. Adults have a bill which is a bit smaller and darker than that of other eagles. They can live for 30 years or more in the wild.
One little known fact is that they are among the fastest raptors in the world and can reach speeds of 150mph in a dive. And show amazing grace in flight, and also as can be seen here as it lands with the wonderful balance and poise.

A wonderful image, Danny, and most appropriate to celebrate this week in history of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing on the 20th of July! We have seen a lot of that on tv today and heard this same quote, with the news of the passing of Walter Cronkite.
