Description
Believe it or not, this is a color photograph.
While experimenting with my infrequently used 70-300mm zoom lens yesterday, I was shooting anything that moved. These birds (Starlings) were perched at the very top of a tree a couple of backyards away.
I'm always fiddling with A, S and M settings when I have time. This shot was originally overexposed resulting in a sky background that was brilliantly white...almost discarded the entire thing. Dropping the exposure a level during postwork resulted in what you see here.
I like it...hope you find some redeeming value in it too.
Bill:)

excellent
It is FANTASTIC! I thought it was an Art print when I first looked!
I like it!! The shot and the postwork give a "gothic" mood to it! And the red spots are a nice touch!
When it's ready to snow, the sky looks like this from our window, and lots of birds gather on those branches.
Different, for color.
Interesting shot nice work!!!
I really like this. Very artistic photo composition.
Beautiful job!!
I also shoot at still targets (;D)!!! I like this photo very much!!!!it has an almost ikebana quality!
Really Marvelous
Fantastic experiment....!!!! Love the sketchy look...
Well done. Sometimes the camera see's what we can't!
I love the title! Great compo, Clive
I really love the little red feet for accents! A good feel-good shot.
easy to over expose pictures. you recovered it really well
Gray skies are always hard to do, but you got really nice detail of these starlings, and nicely composed, too!
What at first appeared to be a pen and ink drawing turned out to be a color photo, saved from the trash and then postworked into a very interesting and unusual display, Bill! Capital effort!
I like it very much! Great work!
You must have a great lense to achieve this wonderful shot. If I take one of birds with my little camera they look just like a black spot on the branch. I love the dramatic look of this one.
Looks just fine to me as well! almost like a line drawing. Such is the way if you point a lens at a 'normal' sky! White Out! Still came out fine, great title too. I like it. Was it on a tripod? Rob.
TOP SHOT!!!
I love this! The sky looks like home to me. :) LOVE the drama, the composition, the conrast ... and the title is superb!
I love it Bill. beautiful composition!
