Nice capture Marilyn, really great details
Great close-up, with great textures.
Don't you just hate to burn it? Excellent capture, it really is pretty wood! Maybe you should take up carving? You could surround yourself with wooden art pieces!
I'll bet that will burn nice and slowly...give off a certain fragrance and provide just enough heat to take the chill off a northern California evening. What color and texture! I put up an orange peel...you put up a piece of fire wood. What next? :-)
Nice one
So lovely! almost a shame to burn it!
lovely shot my friend x 5+
By golly, you described it perfectly in your narrative, Maz! Beautiful rich hues, tints, tones, and awesome textures in this shot! Nothing compares to wood for such splendid effects.
fantastic shot...
Love the texture and detail. Full view rocks!
great macro!
a great idea and a very beautiful outcome!!!!!!!
Great texture, wonderful ! :)
great capture...
Great texture!I love the colour and the close up!The shadow is awesome!
I see more than just wood...History in it's lines tell the story, color by weathering, holes by bores of insects and birds... Excellent photography shot
Never heard of this wood madrone before ,but what a great colour and texture it is .Is it workable for building with ? Mick
Never heard of this wood before as Mickuk said. Looks gorgeous - another small wonder of mother nature. You´re sure that you will burn it? Great material ,maybe for a woodcarver.
yes, it's beautiful wood, and I like that you captured not only two 'tiers' (I assume where it was cut), but also little bits of debris across the surface. Didn't you post some of this before? I mean weeks or months back? Or am I thinking of driftwood....(I'll have to go back & look, I have vivid pictures in my mind, and I remember 'madrone'...) Anyway, a very expressive shot of beautiful wood. It'd make a nice sculpture for your garden or home...
