Description
Lough Mask (Loch Measca in Irish) is a limestone lake of 22,000 acres (89 km²) in County Mayo, Ireland, located above Lough Corrib in the west of Ireland. Lough Mask is the upper of the two lakes, which empty into the Corrib River, through Galway, into Galway Bay.. Many a song for this lovely area of my Forebears.. Though not the Danny Boy I was named after.. Thanks to PJ for the title I was stuck on one until her comment on my last image.

Can hear the song as I imagine sitting on this shore.. so lovely.
A lovely, trasnquil scene, Daniel. I made fleeting visits to the south in the late 1950s, but spent most of my young summers in the 'Fairy' Glens of Antrim, where I never felt so much at home in my life... ;o) Warm regards, from a sunny but showery Glasgow, John.
My grandad is of Irish decent. Irish Janners mate... Nice one !
Beautiful softness, whether natural or added, that makes this a perfect match for your title, ...so lovely with the varied shades of green!
fantastic capture...lovely image...excellent..!!!
I can see in my minds eye, a boy - not too young, but a boy not in his teens yet either, with his pants rolled up just above the knees, socks jammed in his shoes that rest on a patch of green grass by the shore - slowly wading and feeling with is toes, gazing lazily with his eyes for rocks perfect for skipping or stowing in his pockets until a better use for them comes along. The quiet of the water reflects not just images along the bank or afloat on the surface, but it reflects the mood, the boys thoughts and the sounds of the earth breathing... what a perfect place to be when you are young and have all the time in the world to enjoy life. This is a wonderful photo with such marvelous stories inside...
This has such a lovely romantic feel. CC
