Description

I started out my 3D career making troll images the Story of Isa but I've stopped making much 3D art lately. All I have left is some 2D art and some Vue landscapes that don't begin to compare with the awesome landscapes featured in the Vue gallery here. Not sure why I feel this way but I feel a bit like I'm disappointing people when I post a 2D image. Like, perhaps they expect a troll, slobbering monster or pretty lass. (If you haven't noticed by now, I tend to be a worrier, lol.) So, I'm warning people now who are expecting trolls and such that it may be awhile before I return to that genre. I'll never post something that I personally don't like so hopefully they'll appeal to others as well. *****Extra chat (non-essential reading) What I've done the past year is to study Vue and start studying Poser6. I find that Vue is not bending to my will and I miss the days of Bryce alot. I'm stubborn and keep at it but it's taken the creative 'wind' out of my 'sails'. I recently got back into playing with Hex2.5 and found out that it has a bridge with DazStudio. I can bring my characters in and out of D/S and Hex, pushing polys around at will. This means that I can make images with windblown dresses and capes and hair without any postwork. It also means that I don't need to spend time learning my Poser6 (which seems pretty cool except for the folder selection area (horrid and time consuming). At the moment my favorite aps seem to be Hexagon and XaraXtreme4 but that will change once I become proficient in Hexagon as I'll start nudging my Daz models around and they'll need a good render in Vue :)

No matter what you post, the pieces are always "worth" viewing! I love this little beauty. I'm never disappointed with what you post. It's an adventure hon. Just follow your muse. ;o) By the way, we are both in the pink today. Excellent work. Bunny

Nancy you are too hard on yourself. You have so much talent. I started in bryce and thought I knew it pretty well, but compared to your work, mine is chicken feed. Vue is hard to do (I'm trying to learn it.) lol It takes practice and you are a hard taskmaster on yourself. This is a great what I call, retro image. Reminds me of the 50's and it is well done as all your art is. Maybe you just need a rest from 3D, but I would love to see what you have done in Vue. :o)

Software is only a way to express ourselves...i see about your frustration(many times it's the same for me...),but the people judgement is always relative even if often it strikes us.I think you have a natural talent and your work is absolutely delicious:-)

Your image here reminds of graphic arts class (at which I sucked. lol!) It's very nice; good color blend and composition. I think you should do whatever you feel like regardless of others' opinions. I mean, isn't that what art is? Anyway, I know how you feel about losing the wind in your sails with 3D. I'm having similar problems with C4D. I'm sue it will pass, especially with the new stuff you're doing. I like your 2D stuff too. In fact, that's a field I'd like to do more with. I just haven't . . yet.

Yes, Poser has some clunky aspects but I've gotten too used to them. Their like a bitchy old friend. Anyways. It matters not if you create in Poser, DAZ, Vue or with a camera. That's just creativity and there is room enough in this world for all things. Indeed I'm somewhat envious that you can handle all those different tools. Sometimes I think I'm getting too rigid myself. As for your current offering it is quite lovely and really brightens my day. Cheers!

This aint merely 2D art! It's art in a very fine form imo! Splendid work on the color here Nancy. I too enjoy the bridge between hex and Daz, and also the bridge between Daz and Bryce! Keep up doing these cool illustration work as I love it too bits. Ps you could make trolls and other fantasy creatures in 2D aswell, but I'm sure you know this already!lol I was a bit sceptic as to wheter I should post some of my 2D based images made with Corel, but now I think it's worth a try! Thanks!

I can't imagine you'll EVER disappoint me...! So please stop worrying, I bet I'm not the only one :-) This reminds me of those fabulous huge wall-stickers I got for my daughters' room a while ago that made the whole room look like spring... Lovely, especially at this time of year :-) Btw, one of your greatest forces is that you can do ANYTHING and it always works great - so never mind the trolls! :-D

Very pretty and cheerful. I'd say let your imagination and feelings guide your creativity. Art is so subjective and ultimately you are the one who needs to be satisfied. CC

You should always do art that pleases YOU - no-one else matters :-) In this case though, it pleases me too. Very pleasant colours and it's full of sweet simplicity :)

Huh? With that title, I was expecting something else. 8-) Nice design and colours. I think you should upload your Vue images. Being better or worse than others it's not what counts. And you know how I think you can mprove them. 8-)
