Description
I started out my 3D career making troll images the Story of Isa but I've stopped making much 3D art lately. All I have left is some 2D art and some Vue landscapes that don't begin to compare with the awesome landscapes featured in the Vue gallery here.
Not sure why I feel this way but I feel a bit like I'm disappointing people when I post a 2D image. Like, perhaps they expect a troll, slobbering monster or pretty lass. (If you haven't noticed by now, I tend to be a worrier, lol.)
So, I'm warning people now who are expecting trolls and such that it may be awhile before I return to that genre. I'll never post something that I personally don't like so hopefully they'll appeal to others as well.

What I've done the past year is to study Vue and start studying Poser6. I find that Vue is not bending to my will and I miss the days of Bryce alot. I'm stubborn and keep at it but it's taken the creative 'wind' out of my 'sails'.
I recently got back into playing with Hex2.5 and found out that it has a bridge with DazStudio. I can bring my characters in and out of D/S and Hex, pushing polys around at will. This means that I can make images with windblown dresses and capes and hair without any postwork. It also means that I don't need to spend time learning my Poser6 (which seems pretty cool except for the folder selection area (horrid and time consuming).
At the moment my favorite aps seem to be Hexagon and XaraXtreme4 but that will change once I become proficient in Hexagon as I'll start nudging my Daz models around and they'll need a good render in Vue :)

I like it a lot Nancy. Very pleasing to the eye and minds eye. Would look great in a frame hanging on the wall somewhere. Bravo and hugs from Dave :^)
Lovely spring mood to this!
Really pretty!!!!!!
I think you are underestimating the beauty, simplicity and just down right great art you are posting in 2D... This looks like Vector and I love it... I go off in my own genre searching too at times as you well know from visiting my gallery but I think it's okay because one has to always keep discovering... keep dabbling Nancy... everything you have ever done that I've seen rocks!
Oh, to the contrary, just look at the catching, appealing display of innocence and light in this 2D, excellent in my opinion. As for the programs you mentioned, good luck, I hope you conquer one who appeals and renders your creativity unstoppable. I hope you have a lovely Valentine's tomorrow.
Aah, Dear Nancy, you have to create what your heart and mind and soul leads you to create. Somedays it's your soul leading, other's it's your mind, and then your heart takes over. With your talent, I wouldn't worry too much about what people expect or want. You have to satisfy yourself. Personally, I like what I see. I'm pretty eclectic in my tastes, and this new 2D stuff pleases my eyes very much. This one is very encouraging, the weather has turned cold, dusting of snow on the ground, and hopes of spring dashed, but this makes me smile, makes me think SPRING!
LOVELY COMPOSITION...MARVEOLUS TONE COLOURS..!!!!
Lovely colors, great work and do what you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your 2D artwork is beautiful!! I must share your frustration with Vue..... I want to like it, but it is very flakey. PLEASE, keep bringing your wonderful 2D work!!
I think you should just go with whatever YOU feel like posting, 3d, 2d, photos, whatever. As for Hex, that sounds useful, I'd love to be able to push polys around like that...
Love those colour tones and this style in particular. Excellent work!
