Description
Some people have questioned whether the Mona RebelMommy model that I am working with as a possible new Ninshubar can carry the weight of being a fighter and scrapper. That is plenty fair enough because Mona appears to be more overtly fem than the previous Suzie Q by DM. So here I give Mona a bit of a combat test to see if she might pass muster.
For my new Ishtar I did both a portrait and an action charging scene, in addition to doing a cartoon image of her in a very threatening pose. So it is only fair that the newest candidate for Ninshubar should get the chance to prove that she is not just a beautiful young wallflower but has the potential to carry the fierce looks of a female warrior.
So here is Ninshubar on the attack, done in what I think of as the fantasy comic book style of the late 1960's to early 1970's. I'll leave it to Faemike to tell us if this is a reasonable knockoff because I am not that familiar with the details of the genre.
This is for my friend Roy (Shadowhawk2zero), a real life warrior and someone with whom I have had many deep discussions about the way of the warrior. Roy pushes the boundaries of his style and makes us question what it means to be human. His images can be frightening to some. But this is a man who understands the real meaning "of human bondage," and I respect that.
This is what I wrote on an image in Roy's gallery and it is fitting here:
"You may think Shadowhawk is all about leather and lace but if you scratch below the surface you will see he explores the essence of being human. Your talent and style never cease to amaze me.
Yes our styles are really different but fundamentally we are exploring what it means to be human. It's just that we both go beyond the purely "pretty girl" image that dominates the site. Not that I have anything against portrayals of beauty, but somebodies gotta push some boundaries. Might as well be us!"
Roy has a fine eye for detail, so I used some of his suggestions, particularly the look of her eyes, to try and bring out a look of fearless determination. Hope you like her Roy!

You have the most beautiful writing style to go with your beautiful artwork. A winning combination for sure. Love her fierce expression! Wonderfully lighting and excellent pose. Really cool attire too. Love all the fabulous detail in this. Just beautiful - especially when you do a close up. Wonderful fantasy scene.
This is a wonderful image, love the pose and the dynamic but also your postwork. Excellent done!

Gorgeous and powerful render. She looks wild and deeply attractive. Well done.
It's a very beautiful image. You have make a very good work. The pose is really weel done. 5/5
Excellent artwork, composition and story ! Stunning colours and details ! 5* :)
Nice action seen Roxy.
I am one of those people who questionned whether Mona was strong enough to pull off the character of Ninshubar. I stand corrected. The pose you chose is very strong, and you made her look fierce and beautiful at once. Not an easy feat.
Another very strong artistic entry, and yes she does make a good warrior. Love the wealth of details and the excellent lighting. The pose seems just a bit off. The hips/abdoment probably should be turned a bit more to her left, not sure what else. (Got weird looks from my kids when I posed this with my bokken practice sword LOL!) Really just a nit though, altogether a wonderful action scene!
I think you have done a wonderful job with her! She looks fantastic and, if anyone can pull off the 'impossible', my dear, it's you! Fantastic work and a wonderful dedication!
My compliments for the style of this image! ..and shes not 'girlie' at all!!
Beautiful work...Hugs
Totally agree with everything that shadowhawk and Faemike said. I have some experience with swords and blade combat, so I would venture to add that I would expect her to have some sort of defensive weapon in her left hand. A shield was the standard choice in those days, although it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to put a "main gauche" or smaller defensive sword in her left hand. The Scythian Amazons commonly wielded weapons in both hands in the late bronze and early iron ages, and they scared the cr@p out of the male armies of the day.
Great action pose, beautiful character and exquisite detail. Well done!
