Description
This is a carnation from a bouquet I received just before it snowed here last month. The background is out my living room window, with about a foot and a half of snow everywhere! I loved the brilliant backlighting the snow provided.

wow. ^_^ The background does accentuate the subject. Interesting shot.
Outstanding picture
This is beautiful against the snowy background.
Love the multicolored carnation. The backlighting is always a challenge but looks great when you've got it right...and you do. Nice job.
The snow makes a lovely high key background and the soft window light enhances the beauty of this flower. Well done!
lovely colors and image!
The colors are just so soft and sweet; the light makes them perfect!!

Excellent image!!!!
SUPERB and straight to my favourites!! Life enhancing!
Great shot!
wonderful flower and photo!!!!
the full-res version gives hues that feel like flame, and the flower blazes against the brilliant-white background. A simple beautiful capture with lots of petal-light, and that snow background feels just perfect.
Oh yes, it is very striking....hope by now you're snowless :o)

fruity colors and what a beautiful flower! ;o)
The background really does add so much to enhancing the bold color of the flower. So does the way the sun fills the cup of the bloom and holds it as one would hold a lightening bug.
Amazing capture of this flower. Great compo too.
yes, the background does make for an excellent backlight for this carnation; lovely shot.
