Description
More dead trees, possibly on their way to fossilization.
Captured 3/8/07 during my 3-mile round-trip along the 300-acres of restored wetlands, located just north of Huntington Beach proper, photographing anything and everything in sight.
The reserve supports waterfowl such as avocets, egrets, plovers, and the endangered least terns, whatever that particular species is, but not in this area of the wetlands.
Photo #1 is a closer shot of the top of photo #2.
In the midst of a full blown headcold, with just a minimum of sleep last night, I fear I won't be my usual bubbly and sage self today, and most likely won't be until the severity of this illness subsides. But, I will nevertheless continue in this effort of posting photos daily because I am ethically and morally obligated to carry on the task. Perseverance is the name of the game.
Thankx for the visit on this cool, but sunny, Sunday.

Nice work!
Fantastic shots of these bizarre looking trees.
hope you feel better soon. I hear rest it the best for colds. I can be wrong. wonderful shots of these dead trees
Well done...and posting from way under the weather...meritorius service award on the way. These trees are very picturesque. Makes me wonder how long they've been standing here as hulks. Looks very good full size. I even see cactus along the road (2nd shot). Hope you feel better soon...if a cold...probably stuck for seven days. Bill
Excellent capture of the dead trees; from the look of some of the ones in the water I wonder if they didn't grow originally somewhere else and then get dumped in as perches? I guess we'll never know...at any rate, take care of the cold (is it feed a cold, starve a fever or the other way around? I can never remember!) So far I haven't had one yet this winter, knock on wood. Hope it stays that way.
Excellent shot of these beautiful dead trees! I hope you feel better soon. I found that hot sake is good for colds. Forget the chicken soup and bring on the rice wine!... If you like that kinda stuff.
Third one down ... perfect! :)
Hope you had a lovely birthday. Great collages:)
Beautifully sculpted by nature, these trees. They keep watch over the rest. Since most people are posting the cure-all for the common cold. Let me add my 2 cents (and worth every penny!) Zicam and Airborne... then Throat coat herbal tea if you can get it beyond your nose! Speedy recovery!
Get well!
Oh Harry, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling rotten... Hope you will be your old self again soon... Secondly - that you for the dedi of these gorgeous images to me. I LOVE everyone of them as only I can. I really think I'm a bit of a dead tree geek!!!! Each one is special in it's own way... Absolutely gorgeous!!! :)
Great concept Harry, whilst you continue to post, you're still in the game. Hope you get better soon my friend. Cool capture of these strange looking trees!
Nature in action, dead and rebirth, as the universe intended. Nice collage, Harry, and get to feeling better soon~!
Excellent!
