Saying the same things
People have been saying forever
A mother and a daughter in one booth
They have been talking their whole life
And they still find things to say
A table for the coffee club
Old men who have been meeting for 20 years
To talk about the good ole days
Hoping for a new member to join the club
So they can tell every story over again
A young couple sitting in the corner
Playing the giggle game
Enjoying their dinner
But thinking about desert
The other has to offer
A kind waitress
Gives me a gentle smile
As she fills my water for the third time
She is my part time friend
My friend every time I come in
I think these are the luckiest people on earth
They all have someone to share with
Me
I am sitting here
Stirring my bowl of soup
