Description
They been haveing cotton picking machiny around for some time and it would look like they can improve on how it pick cotton. I know nothing about cotton crops but it looks like they left most it it behind.
anyway how they get it improved on.
this was taken in the last week of September. That when they harvey the crop here

This is the "just do it even if it is wrong" approach so favored by business. I don't know if you have ever been to the blacksmith shop where so many of the early Rube Goldburg machies were repaired before hydraulics. Welding a cast iron gear that has broken in half? Taping flex tubes that have rusted out from fertilizer aggresiveness on a drill after galvanize flashes.

Seems like an awful waste. But tallpindo is right, that's big business. Get it done fast and get out, never mind the losses. A great capture, it should be published in a national newspaper to show the amount of wast that goes on.

Great shot of the cotton left behind and lots of it Jock. because we don't grow Cotton over here, the last time I heard "Cotton Picking" expressed like your title was when it was quoted by Yogi Bear er! or was it Huckelberry Hound lol.

I do not think soo for it would be dirty looking from rain and this do not look dirty. I can be wrong and it looks like ie was just harvest

I know some about cotton and harvest and I would say this is what I've always seen just after harvest. the only time I've seen it cleaner is when it was hand picked and I haven't seen a field done like that since I wore knee socks. Love this shot. I've always loved the sight of cotton fields.

I have a capture from south of Dallas that is very similar to yours.I know nothing about a cotton pickin' thing! so I am no help.superb perspective

Jocko, your artist's eye has captured this picked cotton field and the waste with clarity and fine detail. At least a bit of waste in a corn, wheat, or bean field goes to feed local birds, rabbits, and other critters. This will only feed weavels, which the cotton farmers do not want, and will go to waste unless field mice gather it up to make bedding for thier dens, and maybe some birds use a bit for nests. Fine capture 5++ !!

great foto, here in holland they would have made an subsidised job of handpicking the remains. They tried something along those lines already.
