Description
Ho hum, just another Jaguar.
Twenty-seven in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California.
For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08.
This is one of the more memorable popular models of the Jaguar, a real beauty, but I couldn't find a nice encapsulated history of the vehicle, and really didn't have the time for any extended search, so we'll let it go at that. If interested, you're welcome to peruse the Internet in search of its history.
Thankx for popping in, and enjoy the beginning of another wonderful week.

This is where the minds of enthusiasts divide. The XKE had a six cylinder engine with dual overhad camshafts and multiple sidedraft carburetors. It had four wheel disc brakes. It had independent rear suspension. The body was as you see. The Corvette Stingray of the next year had independent rear suspension. It had hideaway headlights. It had a fuel injected pushrod V-8. It's body was fibreglass. The real question in a buyers mind was which was more reliable and which could be serviced anywhere. That depends I suppose on whether you are in England or the U.S. How did the prices compare? Both brands are still here in an uninterupted development.
What a modest body shape but so eye cacthy. One day I will have a jag for sure, I am too young yet to truly enjoy a pleasure to drive one.
So sweet. 5+.
super job on the photos
GASP oh... how lovely!
Now that is a pretty car! : )
Nice photo :) of the sleek, silver beauty~
I once met someone who had 12 of these; he lived in Alaska. I guess he needed to be somewhere big to have space to park them all! It's a beauty, and a classic; great shot! (I can almost see you in the bumper...)
Beautiful photo on your part...beautiful car on the part of Jaguar. A friend of mine had a '62 XKE...it was a maintenance nightmare and difficult to find the right mechanic in Southern California in the 1960s to fix it. Bill
Wow! That;s some shot.. of some car!
Wonderful camera angle to accent the hood.

My generation of Jag..college student in 62..could only dream of these kind of wheels...great shot..
Beautiful car and fantastic photo.
Great shot! When I has a kid in the mid '60's when HO slot cars were popular I had an Aurora green Jag XKE and '63 T-bird...Both were lost to moves...:(
A beauty! i had a boyfriend with something like this but he stroked it more often than me so......
What a beauty! Love that long nosed POV! I prefer the ones from around 1976 more myself. Now ~those~ were classy cars! Very interesting series, Harry!
