Description
Having been defeated in battle, Ishtar is imprisoned by her sister Ereshkigal, Ruler of the Underworld.
“So my ‘sweet” sister, you dared to come into my domain and challenge me for the soul of your lover Tammuz! Do you really think that any man is worth the price you must now pay? Did you think you had any hope that I would let you upset the balance of the living and the dead? Ha, not a chance! For once here, nobody returns from my domain; my power is death and it is limitless. Your quest was futile from the start and now you must pay the price for your impudence. Do I care what happens to the land of the living without you and Tammuz? Do I care that crops will not grow and people will starve? No! Desolation is my domain, and your defeat, my dear, only adds to my power!”

Don In this version of the Ishtar/Ereshkigal conflict Ishtar is not killed but she is taken captive. She's a Goddess, so like Ereshkigal she can live in the Underworld and not be dead. But it's not called the Land of No Return for nothing!

I'm presuming that this was don as a single render, in which case it has probably been a nightmare to get just right! Its really well posed and as male figures/characters are very hard to do, that also deserves kudos. Excellent work, Roxy!

I love the expressions, the posing is very well done, and the evil Goddess's face somehow reminds me of Lucy Lawless (Xena) as a villainess. :)
