Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. This is the Jumping Spider (Phiddius clavus) that had his plans spoiled by my cat as explained in yesterday's posting. After the Beetle had disappeared, the spider looked up at me with a dirty look from at least 6 of his 8 eyes, lol. In return, I pushed my camera as close as I could get a focus and was about to get a shot. He then jumped on my camera. I managed to get him from my camera to my left hand and get this shot. These little guys definitely have attitudes, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Great Macro! I can't touch a spider... lol. I did let a dragonfly sit on my finger, and I picked up a grasshopper nymph... Which is brave for me :) Considering I used to run screaming if a bug touched me!

I absolutely hate spiders but when I saw the title and thumb of this image, I just had to take a peek. I'm glad I did. Very good work. Love it!

It always amazes me how different spiders have different groupings for their eyes, some have them all in a row others have four up four down, some have them all the same size and yet others like this one have different sizes. Superb macro Lee, I can never get them to stay on my hand long enough, mind you the camera is quite heavy for one handed shots. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!! Uploaded a moth today would appreciate your thoughts on it.

Lee, it looks genuinely pissed. I can't imagine holding one long enough to get a picture. Amazing shot. Bunny

I love these little spiders. They always have permission to hunt on my land. I always imagine a little cry of, "Geronimomomo...," as they fearlessly leap off into the unknown. I wish I could get such a wonderful shot. He looks like a tiny tough. Double Bravo for such a great photo.
