Description
This view is from Av Cordoba along Av 9 de Julio toward the obelisk in the Plazae de la Republica, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Av 9 de Julio has between 6 to 7 lanes in each direction and it is flanked on the east by Carlos Pellegrini/Bernado de Irigoyen (3 lanes) and on the west by Cerrito/Lima (3 lanes). The flanking street are divided from Av 9 de Julio by planted and landscaped islands. The total lanes of this thoroughfare are between 18 to 20. The total width is 110m (330-ft). It takes two traffic light cycles to cross this thoroughfare. During rush hour traffic all lanes are filled. This artery was completed in the mid 1960s. It is considered the widest street in the world.

Fantastic shot, Sig, and wonderful information!

Beautiful place and wonderful photo.
excellent capture of such a beautiful place, great work !!
Nice shot, I know now which avenue, but in which city?
Very creative and very beautiful
These avenues built to prevent barricading by revolutionaries take on new life with traffic extremes. My introduction to 9 July moving from 26 July.
super shot!
Excellent capture and great cropping...
Awesome street and wonderful information about it, Sig. Not sure I'd want to be there at rush hour, though. Excellent capture.
I too would not like to be there in the rush hour either, why do they call it rush hour? the traffic is allways at a stand still. Lol. Excellent capture Sig, I have just zoomed in on Cleopatra's needle and see a doorway at the top? That would be a fantastic shot from the top of there. Now thats the place to be in the rush hour. Superb work and a wonderful dedication to Roby. Bravo!!!!!
A wonderful and modern place to visit! :)
When I looked at this I couldn't believe how many lanes! And in town...not even a short stretch of freeway exchanges. The solid walls of buildings on either side are incredible. Just crossing the street here on foot would be a trip by itself! Wonderful shot.
Roby will like it ! Nice gift !
excellent POV !
And they probably still have the commute from hell...:)
