Description
I can't seem to get away from fractals this week. They do reel you in. No pun intended.
I was thinking as I kept exploring deeper and deeper into these fractals how addictive digital art is and how others speak of that experience, too. Then I thought what if our computers have already developed artificial intellgience and we just don't realize it yet. And they are making us into slaves doing their artwork for them--so they can learn more about how we think. Just a fun scenario and an excuse so that I can say please forgive my inadequacies, "the computer made me do it."
: )
I love playing with these abstract shapes, but I always find myself trying to decipher them. When I saw these similar themes in the different fractals emerge, I wanted to try layering them together in Paint Shop Pro. I don't know if that's something you're supposed to do with fractals, and I certainly have a lot to learn about them. I need to get back to learning more about Painter and some of the other software I own, but I am hooked on fractals already and am in awe of what people out here can do with them.
Apophysis for the whale or sea turtle shaped flames
Fractal eXtreme for the large fronds/shells/seahorses or whatever it is you find in them.
Thanks for looking. Any comments, tip, suggestions are always "deeply" appreciated.

Wonderful image! Superb colour!
I love the colours with this superb fractal!
That's a great scenario you speak of... and your image? Well maybe that's 'them' mapping out their new world! Wrap the image onto a Sphere and see how it looks then... See! You were right. They are toying with us.
original fractal and nice couloring...good work!!
Excellent colors and work.
Experimenting in fractal-art is hehe almost a way of living.. I can see you enjoy it ! Way to go !
Ahoy ye matey!! She's a vast sea she is!!
You never know what these computers are up to wink :o)....this is really beautiful work...great imagination !
Wonderful experiment.
Reminds me at a movie with the same tiltle. It looks like a underwater scene with wonderful blue tones!
Great work with this flame. Excellent done!
Wonderful effect :)
Very beautiful fractal image. Love the colors here!
Very cool tones and contrasts, I like it
beautiful work !
Wonderful artwork ! Love the deep blue tones !
I love this, it gives me the impression of looking up from a forest floor and seeing the beautiful blue sky through the treetops. Excellent work!
this is gorgeous... I love the difference at play between the dense and the delicate frac....nicely done
A really wonderful composition and colors :)
Beautiful image and fun idea..I don't see why you can't mess with layers and such in PSP, it weill be an unusual approach and bound to make some interesting work!
Wonderful work!!! Excellent concept and colours!!!
Beautiful result. Like those colors!!!
Beautiful image. You're right about us being slaves to our computers, but they in turn are just slaves to the mathematics of chaos that creates the world around us - we homonids only exist to liberate electrons from their mathematical constraints.
love those shades of blue. Very effective and beautiful work...
I love this fractual, it's color... Awesome Yet I want to say you are 1000% right about being addictive to digital art. I think too the computer does have it's own intelligence as well. It beckons us to do something ...:-)
Stunning and beautiful fractal, Cathy. The title suits it to perfection. It has a lot of expression. Love you funny reflection over computers and AI. Fine handwork in you postworking too.
