Description
This is a glacier on Kenai Peninsula. I can't remember the name, but I think this is what is called an outlet glacier or tongue, one of several outlets of a bigger glacier that would be an ice cap.
This picture was taken in August 1991 and was later scanned.

Looks really impressive. Excellent and very interesting shot!
stunning!
If this is the one that's right by Seward, I think it's called exit glacier. I had to wait for a Moose that was in the road when I was driving out to see this one. :-)

Gosh, it loooks like white water that was frozen in time - frothy and tumbling... Excellent shot.

Excellent capture, my friend!!!
Beautiful place and fantastic capture.
das muss eine wundervolle Landschaft dort sein :)
Beautiful capture!
I wonder what the melt rate is for this now Sig, I'm pretty sure it will be receding now, looking at the vegetation around it. As long as it doesn't melt too fast, so as to form a river. I don't think I would like to live too close to it though. A high hill a bit further south for me. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!
