Description

Seward, Alaska Harbor. Seward is located on the southern coast of the Kenai Peninsula at latitude 60 N, hence the long daylight hours in summer. It was in this town that we had the best ever Fish n Chips, fresh Halibut. The fishermen clean their catch right at the pier, attracting all sort of gulls and other birds. BTW, the guy looking into the camera is me. This picture was taken in August 1991 and later scanned. Thank you for viewing and commenting on my uploads, it is much appreciated.

I think this is the town where my neighbours lover (rather inconveniently) lives! She sometimes goes there for 4 months, I think he's been here once, he finds it too hot.

Marvelous shot! I have a couple of friends who have gone there to charter boats for 3 day fishing tours. They love it and tell me its the place to go for the best fishing and best seafood. I guess you just emphasized that. :-) That's a great shot of you too in front of that fantastic harbor.

I don't like seafood, so there's no attraction there, but two summers ago I took a wonderful glacier tour from Seward. I posted some pictures way back in my gallery. Thanks for the reminder. I notice there's still a lot of snow almost down to sea level, and it's August. Brrrrr.

so were you there for the marathon run up the hill or just visiting this beautiful land?.......=] My Mom use to have a sailboat docked in this harbor but they had to sell it to fund the log home they built in Palmer.

Alaska, known as the "Last Frontier". Looking at the photo reminds me of the time I was in that same exact spot. As a matter of fact I was there with a very good friend of mine. Its true about the Halibut I had some aswell. The photo shows the not only the Scenic landscape but the lifestyle aswell. No doubt fishing is a way of life in that area. Having the "Seward Municipal Harbor" sign in the photo was a very good touch. If one is curious enough they can look on a map to see its location. If I am not mistaken & correct me if I am wrong, but July is the best time for Alaska. Yes, I can remember the fresh air, wild life, fish, the extended daylight hours and the friend of mine. One last comment for future viewers: I took the photo:) Bill K
