Description
Thousands of years ago, there was something constructed at the bottom of a rocky gorge, known as the Abyss. It is not known just what civilization, whether mankind or alien, is responsible for its being there. Its shape and construction, however, was highly advanced. All that remains of it now, is being engulfed by the foliage of the abyss...feeding off whatever decaying matter remains inside of the structure.
Original was rendered at 1440 x 1920 pixel size and took 11 1/2 hours to complete.

WOW! A very fantastic scene Keith!!!! It´s splendid. :D
Oooh, I like this one a lot! It's moody and beautifully rendered. It evokes a zillion or so stories as well. The composition is top of the line, as is the execution, and your written description adds to the already rich and evocative image. I love this!
Wow Keith, that's a tremendous file size and render time the original! but this is a stunner indeed. love the way the water is, and also very good mountain structure! cool idea! and the light from above is cool! Glad you liked your dedi I did for you!
Very good rendering!
Lovely piece of work, Keith. I like the format because it give it depth. Great overall feel to this and nice colour palette.
Wow!This is definitely worth the render time Keith...like the modelling, environment and the water with it's transparency you've given it.I think the real finishing touch is the light shining through the slight hazy fog...very well planned and executed!!!
Excelente!
Another great moody piece. Is there no limit to your talent?
Love it! Superb image! Superb texture and composition! 5++
only.....beautifully
fantastic....I love your stories that go with these marvelous pieces of work that you do ! :)
Cool image and texturing, nicely done....
Spooky, eerie, masterful piece, exceedingly well done! And you know, it really would make a wonderful scene of the walls of Moria, if only the buildings were replaced by the doors of Moria...hehehe...hint, hint for future render...grin
What a wonderful and magical place you've created, Keith. Just beautiful and great story about the history of it. Excellent perspective, cliffs and their textures. Great water and barren foliage .. fantastic work again!
What can I say Keith, another stunner, you're certainly getting the hang of this modelling. This is a great scene and I love the way that excellent structure is built into the rock face. Excellent POV and atmo. Another fav. Tony :-)
This is an incredibly complex piece of work Keith, so I feel that its only right that I put in the same amount of work on my next post! Its so intricate 'grafting' the lements of the structure into the rock face (as has been said already) but I have to repeat it. And, as always in your Sci-Fi (or lighthouse) type images, it leaves one wanting to explore every element, and I wonder what the civilisation was like (as I like to do!) Excellent!
Beautiful work!
Hi Keith this is just wonderful the terrain lab can be very interesting learning and such with surprises you do beautiful work sweet sunshine to you warm hug, Linda
Strangely enough, your description brings to mind the hillside structures of the Native Americans, places that were abandoned for reasons unknown. Beautiful render, Keith, and your narrative makes it even more real--I love this!!
Awesome image Keith!! Certainly worth the render time!! Excellent terrain, water lighting and POV!! Great work!!
I too marvel at the way the structure works so nicely with the terrains....and the atmosphere is very good too....very nicely done.
my hat for tonight's dream!
Fabulous composition and atmosphere, here!!! Outstanding image!!!
You did very good here, Keith - Excellent! -Bo
Breath-taking point of view and composition , Keith. What struck me though is your extraordinary lighting of the scene, which is absolutely marvellous. A stupendous job you've done here.
Brilliant composition here! Really love this one! Excellent work!
Spuerb image, well done...
Excelent scene making Keith. The blend of natures work with those from another civilization creates a very mysterious atmosphere. Great work on the fog too. Muis
