Description
This is a house on the way to the San Mateo Coast, California. It's one of the very first fotos with my new camera and its zoom. I think I'm almost 1/4 of a mile from the house, I cropped the foto on the right to lose the street signs. It makes this place look like an old plantation house; or at least that's my impression!!
Zoom in for a really amazing perspective!!!

The tall trees on the left-hand side of the photo are reminiscent of the long, broad lanes going to the large old homes in the South. Great capture, Marilyn.
I love those big old eucalyptus trees - good capture
Why is there a skeleton on his drive? That what it looks like, something out of Jason and the Argonoughts. lol. Excellent capture Marilyn, I take it you do like the camera then? Bravo!!!!!
A perfectly composed image; the statue down the road looks interesting too ! Excellent upload, Marilyn !
Superb pic!
Very interesting composition and I did not lose the skeleton in the background.
i agree with your summation of the house...youre doing a bang up job , great composition, nice lighting
Neat shot~ Looks like a lovely old avenue! lol @ the statue...it is California after all...
I love the golden light which suffuses the whole of the picture ... and those trees! so solid and sturdy - what changes they've seen. Great capture. Mike
Fantastic photo Marilyn!! and this perspective is great! also that is quite an odd statue I spy!
Very interesting work.
Totally terrific DOF, colors and lighting effects in this shot! Our Marilyn time warped herself back to the old South right before the Civil War in order to show us this serene home and grounds on the elegant plantation. Needless to say, Matthew Brady would be overcome with shock and envy if he ever saw her new camera.
Yup, my first thought was of an old plantation house. The treeline helps with that visual but the yellowish cast overall also lends to that feeling. Wonderful capture, Marilyn.
The trees lead you to the house. Great photo!
You are completely spot on with the plantation reference; this house looks exactly like one! The light and colors are more soothing than an actual antebellum plantation would actually be, which is good, and I love the way in which you've captured the road leading TO the house itself! It's a gorgeous photo and proof that you're having fun with your new camera. The texture of the trees is fantastic and I love the way they dominate one side of the image but not the other. I love asymmetry, especially when it establishes a new and exciting sort of balance to the picture. As always, this piece of work rocks!
Very nice capture, it is reminding me of New Orleans. I too am curious about the statue.
A statue of a skeleton? Obviously, they forgot to take their Halloween decorations down! lol!! Excellent capture, though, and the lighting adds to the image. :o)

Nicely done! I like the way this turned out. Whtaever you did to even out the light and make it warmer worked perfectly! Gorgeous shot, and excellent postwork!
