Description
So I've been in this cleaning mania and found the old fotos. That stopped everything in its tracks. This is my mom's wedding day, in front of Blessed Sacrament Church, Los Angeles. That's my mom (and no, she didn't wear a wedding gown, there wasn't time to have the one fixed all her sisters wore,so she bought this suit, which was pale blue), 4th on the left, and my dad in his uniform next to her. He was in the Army Air Force, and soon after they married, he went overseas and was there for 2 years!! I love this foto for so many reasons, but what I always see are the legs of all the women. My dad seems to be the only man here, though I know there were more. The dresses all seem to be exactly the same length, the shoes are hot, even those old saddle shoes!! And check out the hats, they're pretty cool, too!!

Cool photo! I love old photos. Got any more?
Yes, hats & heels!!!!!!!! Great old photo!!!!!
Oh wow, nostalgia time! Where are the Andrews Sisters? Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me! Women dressed so nice back then, except when they were working shifts over at the defense plants, ala Rosie the Riveter. The hair styles back then really sucked though. Incidentally, I have the Stage Door Canteen movie (1943) on DVD, that I watch every so often, just for old time's sake.
Old candid shots really bring back memories...
What a cool shot. My mom got married around the same time as your mom. She also wore a suit.

Great old photo. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I was just a twinkle in my daddy's eye then Marilyn, I think he was somewhere in Italy on active service. I wasn't born until 48 though. I don't have many old family pictures my brother has most as he still lives in the house that I was born in. Excellent posting, poor old dad with all those legs. Bravo!!!!!
