Description
So, here I am, out at the river the other day. That big storm a couple of weeks ago brought the river up about halfway on the path you see here. Now it's just muddy and slick as well, mud!! But of course, I decided to walk down and head out to the river. I got about 5 feet down, and bam!! I was on an E-ticket* ride, bumping down on my behind!! Fortunately, it was soft and no cameras were harmed in the making of this foto. The foto on the right is of my foot prints, going out to the river and back. This stuff is like quicksand, and yep, I sank right in up to my ankles, lost my shoe, and had to dig it out. But onward, I finally made it to the river, and just wandered around for an hour or so. Coming back, I decided to do a self portrait, showing my muddy, happy, smiling self -another great day at the river!!
*When Disneyland first opened, you didn't pay one price to get in. You bought a book of tickets, from A to E. The E's were the hot ones, and now it's become a way of saying something was pretty wild!!

My daughter says it's like nickle Cokes, a way of dating yourself! P.S. I remember nicle Cokes. I would have laughed myself silly before digging myself out and going on. It took @ 15 minutes to get me up at the grocery store the other day. I fell in the snow. My rescuers were most disgusted with me by the end, every time I was almost upright I'd start laughing and down I'd go again!

Fine collage of shots here, my dear! And, yeah, who said photography was for sissies!!! That was quite a hazardous trek you took into the wet and muddy river bed that memorable day, Marilyn. Am relieved you weren't sucked down deep into the boggy morass, along with your shoe and beloved camera. Water unleashed can be a most powerful element.

Wow - I don't know what I pictured when you told me that story the other day, but this is pretty danged impressive! I'm glad you posted this. Nice work! (I just found out a few months ago that they don't do E-ticket rides any more. Yikes!)
