Description

A principal character from the Twilight Blades, a D&D Forgotten Realms campaign set in Aglarond. “Courynn motioned for the mage to continue, and vanished into the brush with no more sound then the breeze. Although Rynard’s constant brattle about courtly duties would have covered the trashing of a squad of orcs. For several moments the forest seemed to hold its breath in silent anticipation, and then they crashed through the brush just behind him. Rynard spun, a spell at the ready, but Courynn had already pinned the spy to the ground. Using his own weight to immobilize the slender figure beneath him, he realized the supple form was clearly female. “Get off me!” demanded a vaguely familiar female voice. For a moment, he held his position, and then recollection struck. “Talice!?!” Courynn scrambled off her and to his feet, starring down in stunned surprise. She rolled onto her back, as he stood over her, dumbfounded by her beauty. He hadn’t seen her in half a dozen years, but she had not changed at all… She was still the desire of his adolescent dreams! “Well!” she demanded. “Are you going to just stand there.... or are you going to help me up?” Courynn took the slender hand she held toward him and gently pulled her to her feet. His mind still awhirl… What was she doing here? Why was she spying on them? But such questions fell deaf in the light of other thoughts… By the gods she’s still the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen… and he’d lain atop her! Admittedly not in the way he had dreamt of when he was growing from a boy to a man, and could only admire her from afar…” A ranger of Mielikki, and wild scout in the service of the Simbul, Courynn was raised in Relkath's Foot, the "capital" of the Yuirwood, and schooled by its legendary foresters. Seen as a kindred spirit, he was named “elf-friend” in his youth, granting him a much warmer welcome from the reclusive elves of the forest then most humans. A simple man of honor and valor, Courynn shares the Yuir elves’ love of their woodland home. Cast into the role of reluctant leader when the Twilight Blades literally formed around him, Courynn sees his service to Simbul as debt of honor, and one he takes very seriously. But he has little time for the "civilized" side of Aglarond, and only ventures out of forest when absolutely necessary. The first of my third round with the Twilight Blades characters. Talice is next. Thanks for looking... Hope you enjoy! Comments and suggestions always welcome and appriciated! There is a small touch I like a lot in this picture. Lighting is dim, very soft, yet the character is caught in the act of pulling out his knife, and the little bit of blade seems to shine with its own light. This detail immediately draws the eye towards the action: very good job as usual, Dave!
