Description
This was taken the first hour of my trip home from near SF on Saturday. There's an area just south of the city that creates some of the most bizarre weather I've ever encountered. And this is the spot---the rain came down so hard, this is exactly what I was seeing - virtually nothing!! Fortunately, everyone slowed waaaaaay down, I was going about 25 mph here. It only lasted about 10 minutes, once you get over the hill, it almost stops. I think it's haunted or something!!
Oh yeah, all I did to take this foto was to grab the camera, I barely took my hand off the wheel. Talk about point and shoot!!!

You where driving and taking pictures? Thats some great multi tasking. I'm glade you got home okay. ♥
Looks like a sheet of ice on the windshield...no fun driving in that stuff..
welcome to my world! full of rain! ^^
I know of a similar spot I went through where in one curve of the mountain road, the sun never shines. It was chilly up there but on this one curve, it was snowing. As soon as I drove out of the curve it was gone...just that one spot about 50 yards long had extreme and bizaar weather. Great shot you managed to get.
Eeewwwww!! It looks like more than the wipers can handle. I'm glad you got through it ok.
Point and shot works everytime for me! Although with shots like these from the windscreen view, I am usually the passenger! Be careful! excellent but risky shot!
Excellent shot.
tut tut :o)..i suppose my statement was right then about multi tasking as i would`nt of dared lol :o)..this is a fantastic shot obviously taken by one of our great multi taskers :o) mick
Crazy weather. looks like the times you put the wipers on full speed and it just mkes no difference at all to the visibility.
Slow down, you move too fast..... La la la la......... Feelin' Groovy..... Aloha
Haha cool shot Marilyn!! and was that in Marin county like near Mill Valley? I think I know where your talking about lol. and great shot!
Wow, excellent idea for a shot!! It was pouring cats, dogs AND Elephants! LOL!! Thanks for sharing.
Well! It's amazing you live to tell the tale! It's a great image.
Whoa. Glad you're driving, and not me! LOL! That's a lot of rain. (Even up here, we slow down when it looks like that.)
I have thought about taking pictures like that here but my hands are so tight on the steering wheel I get cramps in them. We also have to be careful there is no ice on the roads as well. This weather we have all been having makes you want to scream. Great picture though. Keep safe hope you do not have to many days to drive through that kind of weather. Karen
yikes! Get your hands back on the wheel! ;^P
Gadz, I'm getting a terrible reputation here!!! Believe me, I take NO chances and take this kind of foto only when I can do it safely. Yeah, I know, here it doesn't look safe at all; people were crawling very slowly, there was hardly any traffic, oh well, I'll just be VERY careful!!!
LOL! Yup, take care of yourself!
I was hoping you'd say you weren't drivin! Glad you made it through the storm with a cool photo to show for it.
Terrific textural and gauzy effects going here! Way to go! In contrast to the previous comments, I will not excoriate you on your decision to snap this magnificent and momentous shot, Marilyn. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
lots of rain here. cool shot
Oh yes and it was the perfect moment for taking this superb capture!
Looks like a gentle Florida rain... :o). Cool shot.
Try Rain-X! It works great and may save your life!
This captures the reason I moved. I couldn't take it anymore. I really need sun and warmth!
