Description
Yes I know I said yesterdays was the last from Ironbridge, this one is, honest! Aled said he would like to see the coloured version, this is taken at a slightly different angle.
The Great Iron Bridge: Out forebearers may have invented heavy industry but in stark contrast to many of today's industrial projects, they never forgot the power of elegance or the impotance of beauty. Nowhere is this more artfully expressed than in the graceful lines and soaring arches of the WORLD'S first Iron Bridge. Rightfully it dominates the landscape as the enduring symbol of our Industrial Revolution.

Thank You Jeff, what a fantastic structure and a beautiful place. Thanks for posting the colour version cheers.
This is a stunning shot of the bridge Jeff. And although I was happy to capture it with frosty mist for added atmosphere, I wouldn't have minded a wonderfully clear shot like this, so I'm going to add it to my faves. I still look back in amazement at the incredible Human acheivement, with the sheer guts and determination to make dreams become reality.
I did not realize how tall the fence was until seeing a person on the bridge.maybe he was there yesterday and I never noticed.I like both versions but prefer the color
Really a stunning bridge shot!!!!!!!!!!!bravissima!V:DDD.Hugsxx
Now I can't decide which version I like better. I love your sepia photos but the color ones are just as great. :-D
It is surely a lovely shot of a beautiful bridge but here comes a little disappointment: it wasn't the first iron bridge in the world: according to Judith Dupré'("Bridges", Black Dog & Leventhal Publishers Inc.) It wasn't revolutionairy either however it was the first important construction made of cast iron. But history aside I think it is a very charming bridge (and I have a slight preference for the sepia shot)
I saw that on TV once. Exelent shot. Thank you Jeff.
Yes i agree Jeff it is a shame but this is absolutely beautiful and more than makes up for it.

Excellent! I like this one, too. What a grand bridge!
fantastic capture....excellent work..
I'm fascinated by the gracefulness of this bridge. The details used in the construction are so varied! Your shot is great. I can really see the vine-colored house under the bridge and the top of the brick one is a good balance.
I agree with Tara, Jeff. Grand is the right word for this beautiful bridge. I love the way you have set up this shot, love too what we see through the bridge!! It is a superb shot and a wonderful dedication to Aled. Frost, fog and minus tepms given for Bay tonight :-( Good job I keep a portion of your sunshine in my pocket!! Have a happy day, dear Jeff. Hugs. Di. xx
