Description
Captured 9/05 at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden located on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in Southern California.
I don't know what happened here with this particular dahlia; whether the clipped sea anemone-like petals were the result of stunted growth or a bad haircut, but I just had to capture it because of the vivid colors.
Thanks for the peek!

Oh yes - the colors are just beautiful! The petals look like they've been dipped in purple dye. Gorgeous!

that soft neon violet is so exciting. I see why you had to take its picture. Very fantastic shot, Harry.
Gorgeous colors and wonderful light. Excellent shot, looks fantastic!!
Yeah, the colors are fantastic. The haircut is cute, too ;-)
My ex-wife once worked at the Hughes market on the top of Palos Verdes. I really did not get into flowers again until boynton Beach and the orchid festival. I had to get past a lot of fifth amendment issues. (We're going to get you. I hope someone stops him before he gets there. Don't worry about the reason you're going to tell us.) So they have dahlias in Columbia?
This is a great shot, Harry. The colours are gorgeous and the lighting is just perfect. Well done, my friend!
Very nicely seen. What a bright hue, no one could ignore that.
So beautiful color and details on this pretty flower! Good day & hugsssss :)
