Description
The Ridgeway National Trail, 87 miles (139km)It can take a couple of days to walk through this very ancient countryside. And being on my doorstep, this lanscape rolls over open downland to the west of the River Thames, and through secluded valleys and woods in The Chilterns to the east, following the same route used since prehistoric times by travellers, herdsmen and soldiers. It can look more inviting, but I love to wander along the trail on days when the skys have overcast clouds..
