Having done a short stint as a machinist many years ago, I certainly can appreciate these photos. Very nice job.

Nice individual Shots! I'm not sure (and that's just my taste) about the grayish background. I can imagine it would have been even more authentic presented on some sort of metal plate with some metal shavings on it - maybe those even reaching over some images as 3D effect!

All the shapes and smooth surfaces covered in waste has an artistic feel to it.

I love the collage and the dedication. I doubt many proud craftsmen are left nowadays but they deserve all the recognition and tribute they can get. The composition is simple and yet powerful, the different tool shapes create a strange, interesting rhythm. Beautiful work, Maria.

Wonderful collage, Maria! Nice artistic touch with the one purple pic. And I especially love the prose you wrote - more even than the image because it's from the heart and so well written. Is there anything you don't do well??? :-) I was a machinist for a time in Alabama back in - or before! lol - the day and so I'm familiar with the machines you've shown. That was b4 I decided I needed to go back to school.......sometimes I wonder if it was a more "honest" living if I'd stayed with it.....

Very nice verse and well as the collage. I could almost smell the steel and oil as this downloaded. I know the smell well. My Dad would come home from work and hug me when I was a little girl. He always smelled like this. Thanks for the memory.

What a wonderful collage...never would have thought of shooting tools. They have a special strength and elegance all their own.
