That's really interesting. I grew up in a village in Scotland where part of the Carnegie family still lived so it's fascinating to see where their ancestors landed up!

I'v loved the entire series! You are an amazing tour guide. Your bon mots always inform and/or amuse. Sometimes both. The photos are wonderful as is the subject matter. I miss so many by not logging on every day. I'm trying once again to add you to my favorites. Thanks again for another amazing series. BJ

I'm glad you took this shot with Lisa in it. She is needed to really show the scale of the view. I find the wide steps to either side of the lane interesting... musta been a lot of foot traffic in the day. =)

A breathtaking view and it must have been a breath-sucker to come upon it after such a long, silent walk through the trees.

when I first opened it I was thinking a Southern Plantation. I agree that probably in person it was even more grandeur but I think your capture is excellent

Well, you finally reached the Land of Oz! What a magnificent capture of the old South grounds with those imposing trees. It looks it would take hours just to reach the front steps of what appears to be the Citadel. Was the family that reclusive in order to preserve their privacy?
