Description
Two lion uploads you may wish to visit, the first one is spectacular being a view from underneath the lion, uploaded by Laurence, the other is my previous white lion upload:
Thoiry 6 (Loloe) and my Lion's share for Thanksgiving.
I promised to show the lion couple guarding the bush in which the cubs are hidden - note the lioness almost hidden behind the bush. Hopefully I can photograph the cubs soon and report back. The male measures 5 feet (1.5m) to the top of the fur on his head.
Thank you for comments and visits to the lion series.

anoter excellent image well done
Wow, what a beautiful animal! Amazing capture!
Beautiful shot.
A marvellous photograph. Sadly, since I know very little technically about photography, I can say little more than I sdmire your skill immensely - not to mention your good fortune [and good skill] to be able to see such things. Mike
Spectacular capture ! Imposing creature.
Beautful fawn coloring on this animal..very nice image....
It's wonderful to see another superb artistic shot! Quite magnificent!
Beautiful! And thank you for this better size! :)
Piet, just love your docu@ as Piet...beutiiful and interesting images...cath xxx
beautiful, very rare white lion!
Wow, I just can't get over how muscular this beast is. The size of his front end (all the better to maul you with) huge legs, now it's obvious why he's king of the jungle. Nice touch being able to capture the female behind the bush, amazing work!!
I've never seen a lion this color before, he is so regal!
Another amazing capture, Oom! That male is SOOO BIG!!! Wouldn't want to get on his bad side! Did you take these with a zoom lens? I hope so! Have a lovely weekend! 8;o)
Magnificent capture, Oom Piet. Love the lioness behing the bush. Five feet to the fur on the top of his head!!! That is as tall as me if I pull myself up to my full height... Keep safe talking these glorious shots you show to us all. Cannot wait to see the cubs.. in due course. Outstanding potography :-) Hugs for you all. Di.
What an unusual photograph, Piet! Such ambiguity. The sky in the distance is overcast, which would indicate no bright sunlight, but we have sunshine in the foreground, along with a lion that is an unusually light biege color/colour. Never saw one like that. This is most remarkable, and quite fascinating. Well done, my friend!
Wowwwww, very impressov big cat!!! I like this animal and your picture have a perfect color and composition!!! Good day and good week ;)
I do not believe this to be the cowardly lion.LoL. Another superb photograph Piet. He is gorgeous in all his Majesty. I think you and your Canon are no longer friends but Lovers.HEHE This goes to my FAVS:0)bonita
Wonderfull composition, very interesting fur color!
Wonderful!
Again I can only say that this male is magnificent and his coloring makes him so appealing. Such a good photo of him and enough to make me wish I could see one like this for myself. But your photo is so good, its almost the same thing.
Majestic lion pic Piet. Beautiful this light and colour... You can teach many about that... Great..photo. Hugs and I hope your weekend is going well
Wow!!! he's so beautiful!!!And it's great to see the lioness behind the bush indeed!!! Bravo Piet!!!! and thank you very much for the link, my poor captive lioness should be happy to be in such a company!
Be careful when you go out to check on the cubbies. Big White and his wife look to be on the alert. Love your views. I guess that these lions are used to having people around.
these lions seem to be must lighter in color than ones here in zoos. I laughed when I first saw Laurence's upload. the first thing I thought of was Kimarie sneaking in and laying under the lions head
Oh my goodness....that male is simply magestic! I SO hope you can get those cubs for us...really looking forward to it, but Piet..be careful, please!
Great capture, I love all your wild life photography Stuart
I like the previous shot (the pair laying down) better but this one is great. That lion is very photogenic!
