Description
I know tallpindo can tell me all about this engine here. I do not know nothing about it but I looked in a broken window at downtown and I saw this here. I think it use with a jack hammer to break up roads and stuff like that.
Check out his work for he is one of the top modeller around and he not only modell but he digs into the history of what he modelling too which very few will dig as deep as he dids. By the time he finish he can tell you who came up with the ideal of makeing a type of engine and who builded it and who made all the money too on it. He can say why they put what where and why they did it too. Like put a engine in a car sidways and why. Just to show how much tallpindo will look into what he modelling.
check out his gallery
And thanks for looking and comments and putting up with me.

Great find Jocko! Have an excellent week :)
Fantastic capture and engine Jock !!!
It is a mechanical workhorse which no longer get the best care and thus shows signs of neglect captured well in this photo!
Wonder if this Compressor still runs... Interesting capture. Aloha
Nice picture Jock ... and interesting piece of equipment. *****
great pic, jock, u made me curious why did they put motor sideways? ;)
I agree nice work I'm sure he will love this :
spot on Jocko, it's a diesel air compressor that runs JACKHAMMERS, give the Cajun a cigar !!! actually it looks in good condition compared to the ones I used to use on the road gang in OZ, hehehe ! Cheers
fascinating technical shot! Excellent how clear you show all the details here! Bravo!!!
Well, it seems to be out of the catalog at American Eagle and E L Smith does not answer. I see what looks like air outlets connected to a slantwise set of 4 cylinders but I also see a small distributor at that end. The radiator and a screen covering the fan is at the other end (left). I would speculate that it is a V-8 with one bank compressing air and the other supplying motive power with an Otto 4-stroke cycle. Made in UK it seems. They made sand blasters too and closed in 2001. This is exactly where they are now according to the searches I made. http://www.amazon.com/gp/yp/B0005KTL6Y/102-1000442-1304136?ie=UTF8&n=3999141&qid=1156934413&sr=60-39 I do know that Hizollah manufacturers a superior product in Lebanon and has no need of American made or licensed items like this.
Poor old thing, deserted and neglected. I wonder if it still works or if it stopped working so they just dumped it there. Neat engine pic! (:
Cool! Super shot!!!

Argh!!! Jackhammer compressors. I hate them!!!!!!! I work nights which means that during the day I sleep unless they are digging up the road somewhere close with one or two of these beasties running!!! Ace photo Jock!!! (at least this one's quiet!!!) LOL
