Description
I got over 60 shots of this guy, as he sat there for quite a while. I'm not overjoyed with the sharpness, but I was, after all, on a moving boat. We were maybe 100 meters from him.
This was on the way to the Columbia Glacier, near Valdez. I'm almost done with Alaska pics, I hope everyone has enjoyed them. Thanks for all the great comments.

He's a fresh one lol "on the ice" :P yeah not perfectly sharp but hey it's not something you see every day. And shooting conditions sure sound tough!!! Thanks for sharing mate! :)
Very impressive shot whilst moving. I am going on a whale watching boat trip tomorrow to take photos but think weather might change that adventure:(. Awesome image:)
I am happy with this. The care you took composing it looks real good.
I think it's an excellent image, captured from a moving boat??? WOW, that makes it more special!!!!!!! Great job!!!!!!

Impressive and superbly capture!!!Bravo!V:DDD.Hugsxx
This is a fantastic shot, especially knowing it was taken from a moving boat. I'm sad to see the journey end, but probably not nearly as sad as you were to have it end. Thanks for taking us along on your trip via pictures.
Great photo. I have enjoyed your Alaska series very much.
lucky you..S
I'm glad he was such a good subject for you, sitting so patiently so long. I think considering you were on a moving boat this came out very well.
Considering you were moving, I think it is very clear. He is such a beautiful bird. Nice work!
Could not be more perfect. You are saving the best for last? Wonderful, it's one shot in a million. Thank you!! HUGS!!
great shot sharpness dosn't come into it. moving boat, once in a life time image.
Well done hard to capture in the best of conditions
Great shot, even if he is far away.... I hope you had a wonderful time. We considered doing that one year... it looks like you saw lots of amazing things.
Love this shot. You get the feeling she/he is not frightened of anything.
The ice perch really makes the talons stand out - geeze, glad I'm not the target of those! Terrific shot, Dennis, I'd love to have a photo half that good! 5 stars in my book! And thanks for all these wonderful shots - Lori and I have both enjoyed them immensely.
omg, you did great .. especially given the fact you were in a boat. I would be in my glory and be darned proud to have this in my gallery ... CONGRATS :))
Excellent job, Dennis. This is a great shot.
Beautiful image Dennis. The slight softness can certainly be correct in photoshop using the Smart or un-masked Sharpening tool. Lots of nature images might show up soft due many many reasons, fog, moving boat as you elluded to, moving subject and most certainly if the iamge is taking in RAW format. So photoshop is your best friend when you get home and look at the images :)
