Description
(Think I got the spelling right.)
With Easter right on top of us, we take a detour to a Greek triptych and incense burner.
Thumbnail is the original image treated to 'stained glass' filter. Large image is the original layered over the 'stained glass' version and touched up a bit using the eraser tool.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Having lost the eye and plasmatic spirit that informed brilliant pots--which took clay and added value with form--the Byzantines tried to add value to their emblematic icons by using materials, like gold, supposedly valuable in themselves. The poses are also ritualistic, and continue the imperial inevitabilities of the Fourth Century A.D. How's the icon biz doing in the Russian Federation? Am quite partial to Nicetas Choniates (and Villehardouin) myself, hehe.
Yes, your spelling is right - i am no sure if in russian language, but in the ucraynian it is right, I think so.
Absolutely right, the only problem it should be in cyrillic, not latin. The greeting 'Christos Voskres' (Christ has resurrected) is replied as 'Voisitinu voskres (He really has). Don't forget the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates Easter next Sunday.
Wonderful work, love the idea! The very core of Christian faith!
a most happy easter message for us all... nicely done!
