Description
Hello all!
THis shot was taken in Red Rock canyon /.valley of the fire.. it has these beautiful red rocks there that seem to jump out at you in the sunlight... very deserty and beautiful about 10 miles from Las Veges.
We were driving and I saw this view and said STOP... Mike and Chrissy went down the hiking trail. Me, I ran across the road in the opposite direction on a trailess path of stickery plants and then climbed up into this tree to shoot what you see here... LOL Mike and Chrissy just kept walking thinkin I had dissapeared -They didn't know I was on the other side of the road. This was a tricky shot because there was cactus below me and if i would have fallern OUCH.. LOL , I was aiming for a birds eye view from the tree ..!!!
I believe this is a juniper tree but I could be wrong let me know if you know different, k?
Have a good day or night there whatever it may be..
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my towers from hoover dam!!
luv ya all-~!!
big hugs,
♥ ,

Very nice shot. Glad you did not fall too because that would hurt.
NO WAYYYYYYY THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO GREAT!!!!! Fantastic framing with the tree. Beautiful Kimarie.
This is Fantastic!! The hint of red off center and the way you framed your hills and clouds with the Juniper tree and berries.....Excellent!! VOTE!! :0)
Absolutely beautiful shot of Red Rock Canyon. The colors are spectacular. Kimarie, I think you efforts to get the great shots you capture are heroic. I so enjoy reading of you efforts. Excellent work. V
Yep, that's a juniper. I live in this area (southern utah actually). The locals sometimes call these cedars because the wood is very similar. It also smells very nice in the fireplace. Beautiful capture!
Red rock canyon and Valley of Fire is two different places. Red Rock is on the west side of Vegas about 11 miles and Valley of Fire is at the northwest corner of Lake Mead northeast of Vegas about 25 miles. If you missed Valley of Fire then you missed the best one. excellent capture and I appreciate you climbing the tree to bring us the glorious view
thank you for letting me know i thought it was the same place another traveler told me so.,. last time i go by word of mouth ..thanks Richard!!
what a really beautiful spot you've found. perfect timing and framing, making it a perfect photo.
I love the chiaroscuro type view ... thanks Kimmers for risking life and limb to bring us such excellent photos. V
WOW....it is amazing how much that looks like New Mexico. I always thought that Nevada looked different. Of course the only places in Nevada that I have been are the airport in Las Vegas, and Reno, so what do I know. lol. Do you live in Vegas ? Yah gotta watch out for those cactus...they jump out and grab you. At least that is what I tell my husband. lol. Excellent shot !!!!
OMG..this is the most fantastic shot I have seen in a while..WOW..WOW:):):)...VVVV
How beautiful!! The red rocks at such a lovely touch.
Absolutely beautiful You climbed a tree to get this shot WTG sis...I would be afraid my foot would slip and I would miss the capture and get a bum knee or leg in the process but not my sis:( Yeah.....Love this color..... Excellent Presentation Vote n hugs Your sis Susan~
A magical view! Almost (For some reason) reminds me of Middle Earth? Maybe the tree in the foreground? Awesome composition kimmers!

Oh Kimmie Kimmie Kimmie! This is just gorgeous! This photo right here is absolutely beautiful. I agree with Digimon, had it not been for those red hills i would too think it was middle earth. That tree really looks fantasy-like. And the sky....oh the sky! Fantastic contrast my friend! And to top it off you have those shadows!!!! WELL DONE!!! CLAPCLAPCLAP Have a terrific humpday! #:O)
Beautiful KImmers. A juniper would be right.I excpect to see John Wayne riding off into the distance on this. LOL Glad you didn't fall.I guess we would have seen some really different shots then. But sometimes you just have to go to extreme to get the good shots.
like a genuine postcard! a big round of applause for you, kimmers!
Wow stunning! :-)

Fabulous picture. Love that tree in the foreground. It forms an impressive frame for the red rocks. Lovely sky too! It is worth all the running, climbing, cactii etc. :D
