Thanks to all. You know, that's a very old picture (from 1998 when Vue d'Esprit 2 just came out, before there was VUE d'Esprit 1). You can see some others at my Virtual World http://start.at/arte Also visit my virtual Vue d'Esprit hotel. Start at the corridor and just open doors or follow the indications. http://www.multimania.com/arte/virtual/corridor.htm Guitta :-)
Hi bloodsong, In this pic and others, I build the lanscape in 1 file with different layers. The charriot, build 100% with Vue primitives was build and mapped in a separate file, saved then as a charriot.vob and introduced in my landscape. The cows are mapped again in a separate file and then introduced. For the fence, I've created only 2 little objects in Corel dream 3D and then multiplicated and assembled directly in the picture. And so on... Only terrains and plants are introduced directly in the original file. The most heavy object (like the bird in my last picture "happy day") I introduce at least, because otherwise it becoms impossible to work any more on the pic. I must say that my finally pics are never smaller then 45 MB !!!, often 70 or 80 MB, what is really very heavy for my poor Pentium II with 128 RAM and each little task (i.e. select an object in the world browser) takes a crazy time, some times up to 15 minutes. If I want then to move the selected object to another place in the scene, it takes again 15 or more minutes. Saving the file to disk needs sometimes 20 to 30 minutes. Often, I just do some thing else in my house or in my garden in waiting the task to be finished. I need between 100 and 200 hours to create each picture. But sometimes the result makes me happy and has worth this investigation. :-) Have I correctly answered to your question ? Guitta
heya; yes, guitta, thanks! your pictures are certainly worth it, they look great. all the detail in this one, in particular, is wonderful. i know i would go crazy trying to put so much stuff in. fifteen minutes to select and move stuff? and i thought bryce was slow on my pentium 166 with 64 megs! that only took like 3-7 minutes to do stuff. wow!

In this picture, I needed some dust behind the charriot. It was created from several spheres I made a little oblong and put them less or more together, then mapped it with "smoke" from the special effects. I also changed the color to a more light grey. But this depends on the atmosphere and the lightening you use. I hope this helps. Guitta
