Hello yvesab
I understand your dilemma with some of the tutorial content for Blender can be daunting regretfully there are not many written tutorials for Blender unless you are going to purchase written books and there are not allot of good ones out there. Tutorials specific for BforBlender even less so. There are a couple of really good channels with really good quality well made videos by specific creators that I will list that I consider speak clearly do profession tutorials that are reasonable pace that might help and now YouTube has gotten better at including subtitles for a majority of languages to improve following their videos. I hope the list below helps and if there is anything specific or problem you run into do not hesitate to ask our Blender community here has some really great members who will always jump in and try to help
Ryan King Art Very well made tutorials slow speaking and very detailed in his explanation
3DTudor Covers a wide range of Blender tutorials that are project base and very clear and well spoken
Blender Secrets Great short tips and trick tutorials and he does sell a very well written book of tutorial and tips that are very reasonable priced and the book is regularly updated and updates to the book are free
Grant Abbitt (Gabbitt) This content creator's tutorials are also project based but he speaks very clearly and his tutorials are done in short parts usually longest is only about 20 minutes long very detailed step by step

Thanks I'll have a look. What's most missing at my age is time : way too many projects for a diminishing time....
I know what you mean now a days never seems to be enough hours in a day to get done what you might but we have to try to crave time out for what might give us some satisfaction and sense of accomplishment

I suppose you can imagine how many things I would love to do in my nearing retirement at 67.I know what you mean now a days never seems to be enough hours in a day to get done what you might but we have to try to crave time out for what might give us some satisfaction and sense of accomplishment
To be honest, I regret being caught in this rat race : having a good, albeit competitive job, then taking care of kids, The youngest just left the nest at 30 !
I have something like 10 years of relatively healthy life, that's quite limited. In my "next life", I will first do things I really love, then taking care of career and other vanities.
Yes I can imagine I became 61 over the summer and the last couple of years has been the roughest declining health making me at times wonder if what I did as a younger man was all worth it at times but we hope to pass down share our skills and love for certain things to add to the fabric that is society and our art is something we really should make time to share for who knows what impact something we create might effect another soul. So try and if you run into a road block just ask for help one of the things I have always been proud of is our diverse community here at Renderosity and someone will always step up and offer a hand

I'm a bit late but I want to encourage you to give Blender a second look (I needed 3 to stay :)). Blender has a damn steep learning curve. But it is one of the rarely software solutions that is made for people with two hands (what I mean: https://store.giudansky.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/blender-infographic-A1-594x841-01-sm.png).
And although I didn't really follow that step by step, I would like to recommend a look at & inside the book "Blender 3D By Example". As far as I know, the last version is from 2020. My own is from 2015 and yes, there are a lot of new options and a new UI since then. But what you can do in the older version still works today (in general).
I also own that book Blender by Example and it is a worth while book even today if the version they use was 2.83 which the skills learned can still apply to newer version of Blender which brings in another point Blender is one the few software that you can still access down load and install older versions side by side newer ones I actually 4 different versions installed on my PC because I have to answer questions that often relate to previous versions.

I fully understand your dilemma.
Although I use the Dinosaur Lightwave with all it's quirks, I'd actually recommend exploring the Blender route more. I haven't fully embraced it myself actually as I'd need to "unlearn" muscle memory aspects to still work with Lightwave.
And I'm slightly dyslexic and 70+. ;)
But so many other apps have Bridges to Blender that getting comfortable with it makes forehead smacking sense. There are key presets for what your used to to get started and Tons of tuts.
Blender has superb spline tools from what I read.
The very good point that DocPhoton makes is that Blender now has so many paid and free tools that do bridges to Blender one that I found recently that is free as long as you are not are not making under 100,000 is InstaMat which is a really nice material and texture software on par with Substance Painter and there are many more even Daz Studio has bridge to Blender that is also free so Blender does have many tools and add on to help your achieve goals

I used 3Ds Max many years ago, I'm now absolutely unable to afford a subscription.
I had some success with Carrara but it's really old.
Hexagon is too crash prone when trying it to see "what's doing what" randomly.
I tried Blender, almost every iteration and I still don't understand anythings...
I'm trying to use B for Artist which seems less impressive than Blender, but I can't find relevant tutorials easily :
could someone point me to some tuts ? Tbh I prefer written stuff, in YT it's sometime quite hard to listen, English is not my 1rst language, I quite easily understand native English speakers, but foreigner with a big accent are quite hard, notably french people...
Many thanks
