I mean this single forum post with no replies got more views in one hour than the site top ranked artists sometimes get on their work in an entire week, think about how screwed up that is.

Who is regularly getting 100+ views on an image in a week here? I went through the What's Hot list (already heavily cherry picked) and I saw like one post with more than 100 views, most less than 50. Even site legends like RGUS don't usually break 100 views in a month, let alone a week.
The two big things I'd suggest (banning generative AI and limiting gallery posts to 1 or 2 per day) are probably off limits but a suggestion I have is maybe it's okay to funnel people away from the store to the gallery, encourage gallery posters to link to products used and then link the store listing back to gallery posts (subject to some kind of editorial approval, whether by the individual store seller or whatever).
Hype the gallery more on the front page. Hype individual gallery posters on the front page and in the newsletter. Show off highly polished gallery pieces in the forum banners or sidebars sometimes. Have contests. They don't have to have giant cash awards, just hype the winners, maybe on the front page or the blog again.
You suggest having a contest. We've had a few recently. Have you looked into the current one? https://www.renderosity.com/forums/threads/2992096/enter-now-rendoseasons2025-hashtag-challenge The announcement was right above this post.

Yes but these are forum events. It's pretty clear more people are looking at the forums than are viewing gallery posts. Those contests could/should be hyped on the front page, on the blog, in third party social media stuff.
This is a gallery contest. You post your entry in the gallery. You go to the gallery to view them. It was only announced in the forum.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. Where else (besides the gallery itself) is anyone going to be informed of this?

Based on information from other threads over the past several months, there are many reasons Gallery engagement is dow overall. The two biggest I saw mentioned by previous regular gallery visitors who used to pop up on many of my image comments involved AI images flooding the gallery, and a flood of low effort submissions (likely just to gain render rewards). I also dislike the spike in both of these types of gallery submissions that have seemingly over run the gallerys - including waves of T-posed default lighting nudes where clearly no effort at all was put in.
I have posted far less myself lately because I have been dealing with many real life issues and have not had the time or mental acuity to create following all of the problems in the wake of my fathers death. Prior to that I was getting good views (over 100) but now I am lucky to break double digits. I'll even admit some of my more recent work is not quite as good... but it is better than some of my old work from early 2000 that used to get good views.
I am sure the Uptik in Spam bots has not helped.
The New HD Toaster from Wamco toasts bread more evenly and acurately than Standard Toasters. Take advantage of the FULL resolution of your bread and try one today, because if your toast isn't in High Definition, you are not getting the most of your toast!
I think making the gallery something that can be gamed strictly by quantity was a mistake. Get rid of the rewards program or restructure it so it doesn't reward raw quantity. If it treats separate postings of single images any differently from a single posting of multiple images, lol stop doing that.
What I'm saying is if I have 5 images, it should not be more points to post 5 separate images as opposed to a single post containing the 5 images. Like it should not be black and white more rewarding to repackage the same things in small cluttered bits all posted at the same time.
Gallery rules only work if there is someone combing through the gallery enforcing the rules! The t-pose nudes and similar laziness could be deleted out with points rescinded. That'd be the thing to do. It'd have to be done daily, though. I like the points. Sorry. Not gonna spam garbage into the gallery to get them, but I like getting them. I doubt I'll be accused of low effort. The multiple images thing is problematic, IMO. An image post should be one image because no one will even see a thumb for the additional images.I personally examine every uploaded image twice daily, checking for compliance with our community guidelines. While we enforce these rules consistently, we do not remove artwork based on perceived quality or effort. Judging an artist’s skill level or the time invested in a piece is subjective and complex. What may appear "simple" could reflect an artist’s unique style, creative experimentation, or technical limitations, rather than a lack of effort.

I agree. I still think multiple image posts have the problem of having no thumbnails for all images. I doubt I'd use the multiple image option because of that. What I'm saying is if I have 5 images, it should not be more points to post 5 separate images as opposed to a single post containing the 5 images. I'm aware of the posting limit. It's never easy.
To balance visibility and fairness, we’ve implemented an upload limit as requested by this community. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment that encourages all artists to share their work without fear of subjective judgment. We appreciate your feedback and remain committed to supporting creativity while upholding our guidelines.
Yes, I am complaining about freedom, but it sounds like they've got everything covered, so everything's ok!!
Good luck with your gallery images, can I suggest adding a background to your renders and perhaps change the lighting to something that will put out some shadows? Also if you don't reach out to other artists chances are very slim that anyone is going to comment on your images, everyone that's been here a while already knows this. If you don't get out of bed and get out of the house, you are not going to meet anyone.
I noticed you like Daz and poses, I ran into a funny image (with nudity) https://www.renderosity.com/gallery/items/2824435/keep-fit
If you create anything like that you will get comments guaranteed. Post something creative and comments and views will pour in. Hope you're having fun creating.
lol thanks for the catty suggestions, I didn't bother to look at your gallery so I have no petty retorts ready sorry!
I'll be over here hating freedom, I'm a big time freedom hater y'know!!
Anybody who thinks I posted this because of my own personal engagement numbers, lol no. I get my dopamine from giving free stuff away, I don't sell anything so I have nothing whatsoever to gain in posting this, just a bit bummed to see the site's user base obviously dwindling. But it sounds like you guys have everything covered, peace!
you are not missing much, I blocked them like they blocked me on this forum because I use Ai as well as 3D, but they upload Ai to the gallery, and I don't, I only upload 3D renders (but not many as am an animator)lol thanks for the catty suggestions, I didn't bother to look at your gallery so I have no petty retorts ready sorry!

I haven't been posting as much here anymore as I used to, mainly because I've been posting on social media more than posting here and the images in the gallery. I've been seeing for quite some time that have been littered with AI images being posted here, and there hasn't been much activity for my images recently.
i cannot understand, or maybe it is merely accept, why Rendo backpedaled on their original decision regarding AI...
along with a number of other people here when these kinds of posts pop up, i have offered suggestions over the years on how to maybe improve the site, the experience, etc. here at Rendo. most of all suggestions, be it mine or others, seem to go unheeded, which i guess is fine - i mean realistically, it is not my business, and i mean business in terms of being a money making entity...
as such, i am not going to waste my time with a plethora of ideas as i once may have done...
though, i do have one, and most likely, it'll be my last...
why not have a separate gallery for AI posters?
i am not talking about a separate gallery entry, but a truly separate gallery...
as of now, for example, if i click on "what's new", the http address reads as: renderosity> gallery> featured
so keep that, copy the same set-up on the back end of things [minus the "sections" disctinction and a few minor other tweaks], and create an AI specific gallery...
for which the http address would read: renderosity> AIgallery> featured
or something of that ilk...
so therefore, you're essentially creating a second site nested within the original.
or, well, something like that... that way AI posters have a specific place to post so they can admire each other's algorithm outputs, and those here who like both AI and non-AI stuff can access it all as well...
if it is built off the bones of the already existing gallery format, it shouldn't be too terribly difficult to do as a base 'template' already exists...
peace out.

I absolutely second what Giana said. Besides getting tired of Poser barely marketed with quality renders ( including promos) and thus giving the impression it is still stuck in the oughts, the prevalence of AI enhanced renders makes it impossible to compete with pure non postworked images in any competition or even with gallery views. An AI gallery would help given how now it seems to be OK to post those without any issue, to separate/ allow them to be measured amongst their peers.
It’s YOUR gallery. Don’t let anyone else control you. You make your own choices. YOU are responsible for your happiness. At the end of the day it’s just you and yourself. Make sure you live each day for you. The right people will come into your life who support you and love you just the way you are.

So a little data point: These two items were posted on the same day, same thumbnail, one to the gallery and one to freestuff. I mean at least there's some steady traffic in the freestuff content but this is such a sad state for the gallery to be in.

What happened here guys. The top artists are getting 10-20 views in a week. The free stuff section isn't doing so great either. These are ambassadors and gateways to your store. Why aren't users looking at the gallery any more? You should figure out what killed your gallery traffic.
