I'm trying my hardest with this, trying to make glass that is not totally distorting.

Does anyone have a setting, I need the glass to not distort the faces of those occupying the seats.
Any help is appreciated...
Here's a shot to cheer you up... the new C6RS.

For vehicles, I always turn off Refraction.

Hi Mag, your model looks great--was it done in Carrara or Hexagon?---Jan

No thats "THE" Pratt & Miller model that they use to prototype their car. I'd create the model myself, but we only had this dropped on me late June while making a related music video... we decided to push the limit and attempt to put together a video for Dan Fastuca's Guitar National Anthem for the Ohio Nascar race on Aug 8th (NBC). It's a skit we put together with Dan and Corvette Driver Ron Fellows. We don't know 100% if this is going to be shown (might just be presented to the Race audience while the commercials are going on) Cross fingers that we can get air time. It is all rendered in Carrara 7pro, and Composed using Anime Studio Pro 5.6, a lot of the models are Hexagon including the interior of the C6RS, the seats and the tires/rims (we only got the outside shell to use).

You probably don't want to disable refraction from the global level though, since sometimes you may want to see refractive distortion in the clear plastic "glass" used for lights or on pieces of trimwork/badging. (Distance shots, perhaps not so much. But with close-ups it's noticable.) Just fix that property at the shader level.

Another option is to use the "=== Glass" instead of "Common Glass" in the refraction channel. (I wonder if that translates to "Window Glass" in the original French version? Seems to be what it's good for.) The difference between that and the top level shader refraction setting of none is pretty subtle though. (You have to look closely at the fresnel that affects transparancy and reflection and perhaps the caustic if it's enabled.) The quick render I made demonstrates the difference, starting out with Carrara's "Blue, Clear" and changing only the refraction setting.
