The proximity shader is waaaaaaaay cool. The whole set of SS shaders works as advertised You'll like them. Back to the global settings, sometimes the changes may not be obvious becase of the scale of the shader. Reducing the scale of the shader will make the implementation more obvious. For example, the default scale of a shader may be 100. That looks fine on the "local" setting but seems to not even show up in "global". That's when you try a setting of something like 10 inseated. Could somebody please give me a brief description of how the local and global settings in Carrara work, particular in references to shaders? The manual doesn't really do a good job of this.
I'm used to working in Bryce; global settings for shaders there were affected by an object's position in space. I don't sense this with Carrara.
Any help?
Thanks.
