Subject: Any way to label shader levels?

logican12000 ( ) posted Tue, 03 January 2006 at 6:54 AM · edited Sun, 11 January 2026 at 3:40 PM

I've been playing around with procedural shaders and also looking at Shonner's skin one. Nesting shaders within shaders seems to be very powerfull but can get quite confusing. I was wondering if there is any way to label each shader level? For example, veins, base, freckles, etc. Regards Tony

Tony,

Shader Ops has a shader called Note just for that. It gives you a text field and it simply bubbles up it's child shader.

Eric, Thanks for your reply. I have Shader Ops, can't believe I missed this function! Too many cool things and not enough time :-) Tony

I hear ya.The shaders are a whole nuther world so much there an so many options. I really like the new tree design tho so much cleaner.

No need to think outside the box....
