Description
My upload today is for Madeleine ~aka~ WandM
to say THANK YOU
for making me smile with every image of her cute tomcats
for posting very creative work which is a great inspiration
and also for her constant support and encouragement by her nice comments.
You are a wonderful and warmhearted person and a gift to the gallery!
Thank you, Madeleine!
Of course it had to be a cat portrait for her :o)
Together with my daughter I have visited an exhibition for pedigree cats (not sure if that is the right word) the other day. It has been very interesting and fun to take some shots.
This one here is a so called MAINE COON
The Maine Coon cats have their origin in the cold northeast of North America. Many legends climb around their origin. One of them also gave the Maine Coons their name: it's said normal, run wild domestic cats had mated with racoons. Thus, so the acceptance, they came to their half long coat and their fluffy tail.
If you want to know more about cat breeds have a look here they show several portraits of cat breeds.
Sorry it's only in German... maybe someone could tell me about a similar site in English.
BTW my daughter asked a breeder for the price of one cat... it's minimum 550Euros... and they never sell only one... you have to take at least two cats. So I said to her:" Don't ask me anymore for having one, hon!" LOL

Thank you for your nice comments and rankings on my previous upload
Just to say..."
I really apreciate your words.

This is a delightful image. You've really captured the personality of this "cat". An excellent photograph. Is it a regular cat? I mean, I have a cat and as I understand they are supposed to "meow". And, well, my "cat" clicks and buzzes and I've seen it's head spin around and it's eyes light up. It sorta floats across the floor without moving it's legs and speaks 12 languages. "Cats" are strange creatures are they not?
wow Moni, this is realy lovely, and yes I like her shots too...always a joy to look at her work.......nice dedication.....

Extraordinary image... so well captured. Like it alot !
What an adorable cat! You were lucky to make such a shot (my cat always walks away when I've focused him ). Mhak, Tjeerd.
I once had a cat who looked a lot like this one. I don't think he was a pure bred Maine Coon by any means, but the resemblence is striking.
Not only is the cat posing, but it is doing so with great pride. Excellent capture Monika.
super looking kitty and capture Monika. I, my self would never buy a cat for any price, when the shelters has thousands. little lone 550 Euros!!!
