Description
So named because this is the view from the front door steps of the house in yesterday's (following) image if we look a bit to the right.
Actually, today, the view would include The Weese's car, but that is definitely not picturesque. Thus we take the liberty of hopping across the street and looking from there.
This has changed since we were last here! From left to right we see a marina restaurant with probably a tug/fireboat moored by the parking lot. Across the harbor is USS / USCGC TANEY, which is the last surviving warship present in Pearl Harbor on the "Day of Infamy." Now a musuem at the waterfront. Next is what seems to be one of the dinner cruise boats in front of .... Beats me! Never saw that building before. Must investigate. The building with pink awnings almost has to be a restaurant. The funny, stepped building is one of the first condos built in mock-industrial style in town. In front of that is a screw-pile type lighthouse removed from its former domicile to become a harbor attraction, and in front of that is a two-masted schooner. Got lots of them around here now; not sure if there is any significance to this one. To the right of that looks like masts from another schooner... see! I told you so!
Not a view I'd get tired of soon. The park is also a real park: no ball fields, etc. We will stroll for a bit.
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
Dang crabs are starting to call me again! yum!

A good site if you want more on TANEY.

it is amazing how each waterway scene can be so different.. this one is an excellent view of different kinds of architecture... are you sure you aren't an architect in another life? (you seem to appreciate it so much)
fantastic composed scene and so many details to explore! :o)
Dear TW, really pretty!! Which I could sit out there and enjoy the view for a while! It's sad that so many of the old ships are gone. I love touring the one still around. Excellent work - off to slay more e-bots!! Love, Meredith - ebots FEAR me!!!
