Description
Federal Hill got its name during the Civil War. Prior to the war, it was a convenient place for spotting merchant ships entering the harbor. The owners would know in advance that 'their ship came in' and could meet it at the docks to determine what goodies were now available for resale.
During the Civil War, it became the site of a Union Battery... See link for details... and more.

Now it is a very pleasant park overlooking the Inner Harbor. We will poke around a bit to see what's going on in the harbor area.
This house faces the park which blocks the view to most of the harbor area. I would not hazard a guess at the prices for real estate in this vicinity. All I can remember is 'it was a dump' overlooking worn-out warehouses and in serious decline. Definitely a success story for urban recovery.
Get your walking shoes on. We will also be looking back towards areas we've already seen.
Enjoy; thanks for looking.

Interesting house! Excellent shot!!!
I am STILL awaiting My Ship...what a fine old Building.
real good shot
expensive i bet... neat to see another lifestyle with such history & preservation :]
Oh yes, a tad pricey. This gives you a good idea of how LONG these row/town houses can be. This end unit has just a few windows. You can bet the middle units have fewer curtains to worry about.
they've done a great job w/ restoration... the place is looking clean and spiffy now :)
most impressive and wonderful colored building! ;o)
Dear TW, Me again - still fighting hordes of e-bots!! Great renovation job. It reminds me of some along St. Charles in New Orleans that have been through the same treatment!! Big improvement. More places need to do the same. Pretty photograph - great colors!!! Excellent work!! Love, Mighty Meredith, feared e-bot slayer!!
