"The "War to end all wars" - WWI - now, how in the heck can a war END war? Seems to me it just creates more resentment down the road - doing something "wrong" to make something else "right" never works. Only love, respect and consideration for each other can end all wars.....IMHO...
I thought of a number of things as I made this. First, it looked to me like a scene of trench warfare from WWI - the "mustard gas", color of the spiral "soldiers" uniforms and "bayonettes", Then, when I added some texture to the background, I got sort of the vibe of WWII - the Normandy D-Day invasion. And then I almost named it "Master and Commander" as I got a sea battle vibe from it. Tough image to name - like fractal schizophrenia lol

BTW - I'm adding this late but - please let me know if you think this is too dark on your monitor. I just calibrated my monitor and it ended up with the brightness MUCH higher than what I had b4.

LOL - ok, might be this one gets named "by commitee"! A few more who see a shipwreck/sinking ship and I'll change the title to "Abandon Ship!" As I look, I see that, too. :?)
Hi Rick , your wonderful picture makes me think of an Armada battle in the 16th century . The cannon balls have been fired and the ship is mortally damaged ............... we see the white smoke rising from the wrecked ship with the dark foggy sea in the background :A most evocative picture -I really like it ,C-ya...Mike !

A very impressive image. I read what you wrote of what this reminded you of. But my first impression was very different. I immediately thought of Moby Dick, but I can't explain just why.

Awesome Fractal Abstract scene! I must also admit that I saw a Tall Ship stuggling in Gale Force winds! But you already know I'm a son of a son of a sailor! But it also is most powerful and symbolic of battle, and if it inspires impromptu poetry from whirlingfeather it deserves a V!Bravo Rick!

Dark and dramatic and outstanding! Awesome mood, perspective and design. I love the rich overall palette, the gridplay and the shot of red color. Looks old- antique with almost a velvet or suede feel. The lighting is perfect, IMO. WOW.

I have to admit first impression was a shipwreck! But after I read your description it began to take on the feeling of a battle scene. I opted for the Trojan Wars, because of the sharp spear like projections at the top. They are reminiscent of greek battle tactics. Still the scene does capture an overall sense of war! As always my friend... brilliantly done!
