Description
I took this after this guy swooped down towards me he went to rest on another tree and I followed him. I wanted to test out my close-up capabilities and zoom with my new Nikon 7900... I thought it did pretty well much better than I am used to with the Kodak....
Wasn't going to put it up but thought I like it so I would today... after this I visited his home...(his home is im my gallery too hehe) if you missed it and want to see his big swoop .. You can see him in my gallery. Put it up last week for Cynlee."Swooped away". Who is so wonderful!
This is the 3rd owl in my gallery... I also did a hand painted one smudged with a mouse ...of a spotted owl done by mouse and smudging..."the spotted owl who lost his mask".
Anyways this will be short and sweet you are probably tired of my rambling...
I wanted to thank all of you on here for your time and support and let you know that I haven't tried to earn points and get votes back by voting... just do it cause I love the work...seems to be allot of contraversey on here about that issue.. I just love art and photography and feel privileged to be on here and I have a deep respect and admiration for everyone on here that shares...
sick again today so I am behind again in my comments.. (that and my teenager Annie is hogging the puter all day lol has to talk to all her pals in chat and it's hard to come on sometimes -bought her a new one should be ready soon counting the days..!!)

whoooo~hoooooooo !!!!!!!! this is my favorite animal... the owl!! I really just LOVE that animal..will always do!! A really nice comp,.. STRONG captured !!! excellent!!
i love how you caught him close up and the fantastic detail in the feathers! I love his eye too and wish to see more of the other one!!! :) kimmers, did you do some kind of postwork to make that white part on the owl? i'm not sure. when i looked at it last night i thought maybe it was a part of the image that was overexposed. now i'm wondering if you did postwork to achieve that intentionally. everyone else seems to love it. guess i got to be the weird one and tell you if you did postwork to achieve that look, IMHO, i think it would look better showing the natural feathers. it's just a personal preference, but i just don't care for it. i think that bright white light takes away from the most incredible part of your image...the owl's eyes. i would love to see more detail in his other eye better! You caught that one eye so PERFECT!!!! also, it seems like this image might be oversharpened just a bit. i love how his ears overlap the frame! cool idea! you did some wonderful work with your new cam!!!! What a close up! keep it up girl!!!!
A tunnel of light in his eye. A Beauty.
