Description
Not exactly architecture, 'ceptin' their ain't none left! Not exactly the detour I had in mind.
This happened while I was posting yesterday.
I hit the send button and all Hades broke loose! Fire alarm, sirens, train blowing horn like nuts, and what sounded distinctly like several explosions. Man! All just for posting an oversize image! Vik, you are one tough lady!
On the other hand, one of the warehouses about 1/2 mile away catching fire may have had something to do with it. Per the news, later that evening, an empty warehouse caught fire and 150 firefighters responded.
Now The Weese ain't stoopid no more. "Empty" does not explode. That is the top image: something exploded after all this stuff started. The next frame was an even bigger, if blurrier, explosion captured in 1's and 0's. Also, "Empty" does not cause thick black smoke like what was blanketing the site.
The train blowing its horn was about the fact that trains lose their traction when they hit a slippery surface on the rails: like myriad goobers standing on the tracks gawking to get a better look at the fire. IMO that is Darwinism at work, but . . .
Well, it's still smouldering today. We'll post a few more of these images and then hit the planned detour.
Bottom image is a 32X zoom into the heart of the fire. Top is a 10X zoom. Thumbnail is normal, and we will see that tomorrow. It gives a good idea of the sheer magnitude of what was going on.
Hey, I got better footage than the local TV station. Nyuk nyuk nyuk!
Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Weesel, reporter de choc !!!
Mister Reporter extraodinaire, I assure you I am not lethal enuff to have anything to do with this one! lol Great capture... now I see the Wees on the heels of a new career! ;)
Great shots
That fire's hot enough it's melting the freak'n steel frame of the warehouse. To do that you need something highly flamable fualing the fire. Very interesting image.
Dear TW, no S'mores? I'm so disappointed!! Fires are always fascinating - at least from a distance. Don't think I'd want to get too close to this one - or any of them. Never know what might be in there and about to blow any second. We;ve had our share of them down in the petrochemical area. The last one at the BP plant - I could see the smoke from here - over 40 miles!! Excellent work!! Love, Meredith
dangerous and hot stuff! good that nobody was hurt! ;o)
