great abstract and it is indeed full of texture!
Please forgive me for saying that this is not an abstract. To be considered an abstract we would see only a small portion of this image and left to wonder what it is we were looking at. This does not mean images of a larger scale cannot be abstract, they can. What we need to remember is that it must be sripped of its identity and down to just basic shapes. By moving the camera in on the subject of this dried out plant and focus on the arc and smaller openings and disregarding the remainder, you will have achieved an abstract. Please do not take the comment as a negative, as this is not my intent.
Abstract, not abstract? That that here imports for my form of seeing it is the work in if and not so much the category in the one that this located. I believe that it is an excellent picture that shows the cracked texture of a tree of many years, the effect of depth of those quebraduras it is increased notably by the beautiful lateral illumination that comes to about 45 degrees, a macro with a very high definition in their lateral one left, to right logically for the difference of distances is some blur that in anything desfavorece to the picture. Excellent and beautiful work Gary.
beautifully spotted.. love the textures and tones.. and patterns truly art and nature..:) excellent...
thank you Rodolfo for cutting to the chase on what's important. egmont is technically correct, but part of the determination is still up to the artist's discretion. its pretty foreign looking and abstract at first glance.
