Description
She hurts and is upset, so she cuts herself.
I've read about this recently and it seemed so unbelievable to me.
Usually she is from a very unhappy family and had been abused as a child.
From what I read the cuts are usually were you can't see them.
This really made me so sad.
There is help, as in any mental illness.

Totally incredible! I love the hair and expression! Awesome overall mood and tone of this render! Excellent work!!!!
It happenes Leah recognize this from my teen years. There's help but sometimes you can't find it or you can't reach it and then this is a way to get out of the pain inside
Beautifully done!
Wonderfully done Leah! As someone who's dealt with friends who do this, this is just so beautiful.. Love the mood and yes, it is a sad thing and there is help, but only if the person will admit that they need it:( It's very hard to watch and even harder to deal with when it's a good friend or their child. Excellent image hon :)
I've seen quite a few cutters and most of them have them readily visible. I'm not sure if it is just an extension of this whole tattoo/piercing thing sometimes, or a sign of some deep disturbances. Mostly I suspect the latter. Great image of isolation and sadness. While I believe that we are all ultimately alone, sometimes you just have to reach out to others either to ask for help of to offer support.
Powerful and sad image and very well done! Gorgeous hair and great outfit.
Very sad, yet very true. Excellent image, with such a sorrowful feel. HUGS ~Heather~
I can not say that I know anyone who has done this, but who is to say I just never noticed. I know that depression and loneliness is a very horrible thing and it can lead to all sorts of behaviors and acts. So I can sort of understand, but we should lift up those who go thru this and give them the love and help they need. But I agree with squeeka that first they have to admit to the problem first. Image does portray the feeling for sure. Well done!
As a recovered cutter I must say this is a powerful piece. And your information is very acurate as well .. great image too ..
Yes, it happens, and it's a cry for help.
I think people would be amazed at how common this is, Leah!!! You do wonderful work when you call attention to these things!!! EXCELLENT!!

I sure hope you reach those in need Leah! Not a delightful subject, and I admire your strength and willingness to tackle it! Bravo!
Heartrendering and stirring... Gorgeous scene!
You saw right through me with this one Leah. Your images always capture all the detail that goes into the soul of others. Did you make the "male figure" in the back with no neck on purpose?
I used to know some one who did this it is horrible she was a very pretty well educated young woman yet she would cut herself or burn herself with cigarettes. Excellent image and message Leah
An excellent image that has portrayed a very sad, but unfortunately, common occurrence in our modern society. The more we surround ourself with people the more alone we feel. Beautifully done. Matt:-)
Unfortuantely this occurs too often nowadays, we know all about mental illness in this family, not on this scale I have to admit. Very meaningful image, sad but true into days society. Lovely work :) Cathy oxoxo
Sadly, More People Do This Than You Would Think... Wonderfully Done!
A very realistic and excellent scene Leah!!! Ilike the expressive face of the character and the beautiful illumination!!!!
very sensitively done
Beautifully done, but how true that people do this to themselves, it's very sad.(HUGS) to you Leah
This is such a sad image. I know a girl who used to cut and a boy that still does. It is an odd cycle of pain and need.
Absolutely heartfelt work Leah. Superbly posed and such a sad mood to this. Excellent! Steve :o) VOTE!
A powerful image about a very sad illness. :o) CC
Brilliant concept and work. V Yes, there is help. If one asks for it. If others see it in others and don't deny it. And, if all that does occur, one can afford the 'help'. Money. SIGH.
Very deep and expressive Leah. Great composition.
OUTSTANDING!!! Lovely vivid colours and a very sensative scene.
Very beautiful image!!! Amazing work!!!
