My first thought was a bee's nest, but I think the idea of fishermen's nets is more like it. It's whatever we imagine it to be, and an excellent image whatever we perceive it to be.
I don't know about tail feathers, but this is a remarkable abstract of the beautiful subterrainean rock formations I have viewed in the Luray Caverns of Virginia. Amazing details and forms, the beauty of which are really heightened by your excellent lighting and the high quality resolution of your render. Super work!
