This is the second of my series showing various lighting and atmospheric condition on Mars. The picture shows the Mars Lander USS Chesapeake in the Ophir Chasma area in the late afternoon. As you can see from the first image that I posted in the series the terrain has been modified to give I hope a more balanced scale to the Lander. I have created over 124 test images to get just to this point. The file size has also increased to over 1027 Megs. Unfortunately I had to resize the original render from 1779X1333 to 1186X889 in order to increase the quality of the picture because of the restrictions of these sites. If you would like to see the full version of this image you can see it here; http://www.bambam131.com/usschesapeake/usschesapeake&terrain37aD.jpg the file size just comes in a little less than 1 Meg. Thanks again for taking the time to view and comment on my work.

Much better scaling this time. And excellent image.
This is a really cool image!! I just started learning this software.
124 test images? WTF? David, I would love to know what your goals are with these pics? Youre one hell of a modeler, but I am not sure where you are taking it. Would love to know. I have seen these similar images now for years.. What gives?
Wow, great work again, the master at work...;)
Landed once again :) Nice one indeed :) But I do agree with striving: to many try-outs considering You can land only once... no mistakes I mean if You know what I mean ;)
Excellent!
this is awesome indeed. the detail to the terrain is superb.
Well done, as usual,.........be nice if this would someday become reality,.......but I have my doubts,........at least in my lifetime. I will have to be content with these images. Keep them coming. As I have said before, these are very reminicent of the work of Robert McCall.
You are a truly dedicated 3D CGI artist and it shows in the high quality of your work. :-) I am happy to see someone working in a style similar to my SF art hero Robert McCall. Like you, I do my 3D CGI spaceship primarily for my own entertainment. I encourage you to keep striving and following your artistic dreams.
Awesome materials on the groundwork and the haze is very Aresian...? I think it's great, post as many renders as you want...
Magnificent dedication to detail and accuracy. Only one problem - is the number "6" ... I suspect most of your fans are in hope that you will continue onward :-).Ihank you for sharing.
Excellent detail model and rock texture. Great job! Vote
This is Great! You really need to show me how you did the Marsonauts
Excellent terrain work and great atmosphere!
